I'm not that technical, but Im learning. So, it's a intake valve, but for what? Fuel? Air? or both? Do my ECU need to be remapped afterwards?

It's just under the stock air intake (were it enters the engine, just follow the black plastic tube from the airbox to the engine ). I'm not that technical tough so I don't really know.

Personally I´d keep the cat because without it your car may get an annoying loud sound. I´m not really sure about it but it´s possible that especially the newer cars will need something like a real cat (I mean: not gutted or anything like that). Not sure about that though! And at the end all this stuff is only worth it if it´s good but not too expensive. In germany for example I´d pay about 600-700 Euro for a good header (like the DC-Sports header) and that´s definetly too much for the small gain IMO!

I would also keep the cat. You will have a really anoying sound in your passenger compartment if you take it out.

I´ve also read somewhere that you´ll lose some low-end power while making high-end power better than before with most of these bolt-ons (intake/ header/ exhaust/ cam gears/ pulleys/...). So that would be something to think about, too. But I´m not sure about this and if it´ll be always like that!

I've heard that too, but I don't think a new header is up anyway. Not a very cost friendly mod! But the thing goose is talking about seems real nice. A cheap mod, simply making my 1.4i a 1.4iS (more or less). Doing that, a Supersprint backbox and a filter will give me a little bit more power (15hp is a lot coming from 75) and a great ROOOAAARRRR when accelerating! Just what I'm after!

Well I wouldnt threat a Civic 1.4 with 90hp as slow :frog: It accelerates much faster than most of the cars here with lest say 100-130 hp. Well ok u will get problems shooting down a GTi with 75hp but with 90hp it will not get easy for him
And 90hp enuff to shot down a Opel Calibra with 2.0l and 115hp- that is really funny!

It might be the throttle body, we're not sure what it's called in the different languages. Do you know anything more on the subject, prices, the right names etc you're VERY welcome to post!! This really got my attention...

Well all I know is what you're describing which sounds like the throttle body and changing this to a larger one could give you more hp depending on different factors so I'm pretty sure it's what you guys are looking for. Sorry, I only know what it is in English
