Nope, but I have a lot of feedback to make a good choice.

As quoted above several times, the RS-R is very close to stock sounding. Its a civilized performance exhaust. And stealthy too.

Re: Any opinions of these two Exhaust systems?

hrm... the last time i checked i can read. i asked because i wanted even more personal feedbacks regarding sound/vibration in the passenger compartment on a S13. Not just "...it's quieter..." if you compare that to an Apex-i... sure, many of them will be.

that's why i asked if anyone personally drove one.

AceSnyper has a civic
RedFC3S and suislide both have RX-7's
and logikal1 had a S14 (newer cars have better passenger compartment sealing against sounds and vibrations).

Well, i won't argue... i guess this is the best i can get on a forum. It's almost as if nobody has a exmag on a S13 out there... why? could it possibly be a shietty combination? dunno... that's what i wanted to know. thanks to all who responded...

Re: Any opinions of these two Exhaust systems?

naw.. i know it performs well. i can get reviews about that everywhere. My car is a daily so i don't feel like paying 500 for something that will make me take the bus every morning.

plus, i hate girls complaining how loud my car is on road trips...

Re: Any opinions of these two Exhaust systems?

simple if you dont want a loud car DONT FUCKING MOD IT!!!!! if it means that much to ya sheesh. Exhaust has niose. I have header back with hks hi-power. Sounds quiet to me...sounds like you want something so quiet you can sneak in and out of the boarder or someshit. Exhaust is exhaust, take it or leave it. Thats what silencers are for, if you dont want to look stupid with a silencer then you have to sacrifice one for the other. RSR seems to be getting the vote so... chances are if its quiet on one car...it will be quiet on another, since they designed each exhaust for the application. If your worried about rice sound....it wont be. If your worried about headaches from rattling...then get a damn radio. i dont get why your so picky?? you dont want girls to complain??? every girl i talk to likes the exhaust noise....dunno maybe thats just my area. If she keeps blabbin just tell her " you keep runnin your mouth im gonna stick my d... in it". Or pull over and open the door and say hope you got nike's. i mean my god it cant be that bad.

Re: Any opinions of these two Exhaust systems?

this thread has pretty much ended (smoothly.. thanks to everyone)... but i never asked for anyone to start bitching. anyway, i have to mod it b/c some loser who i bought the s13 from in the first place replaced the resonator with a custom piping to a cheap muffler. As a result, i've been enduring a few months of loud obnoxious ricey-ness.

So alrite, i want it quiet... so options are OEM full exhuast system or performance cat-back exaust. Why get OEM if it estimates at $500 to 600? it costs about 450 for a rs*r which i read to be quiet for it's performance gain.

i like to know as much as possible before i spend any money... if you have experienced college life w/o "spending money" from your mommy and daddy, you would understand this "picky-ness" you naturally attain from years of struggling thru books, food, and bills (that results in a very small budget for spending money)

i simply hate the idea of ...just because some drifter you saw on SuperStreet had "this" exhaust for his ae86 so now it MUST definitely be good for you... idea. Think about car setups and balance.
Many people who have deep-pockets will simply go thru 3 or 4 exhaust systems before they decide on one. I just don't have that kind of money... sorry.

hopefully, someone will come along and end this thread... thanks for all the inputs.

Re: Any opinions of these two Exhaust systems?

man don't get so pissed off.. you have to realize that if you're concerned about sound so much, you're eventually gonna buy a real shitty exhaust.. no matter what exhaust you have, its gonna be relatively loud, especially at higher speeds in the driver's compartment.. not to mention when the sound waves start bouncing off eachother.. when i hit 140km/h or about 85mph it gets loud inside the car cause of the wavelength of the soundwaves. you can't avoid that at all. i understand you don't want to turn heads because of your exhaust but the ones you're contemplating won't differ as much in sound as you think.. i've heard enough about the rsr that it would be one of my top 3 exhaust choices simply because of the sound and performance. but really if you still find it too loud you either need to get a sound system or a stock exhaust

Re: Any opinions of these two Exhaust systems?

chuki breath is the one who is pissed off. I'm trying to keep this thread as mature as possible. This isn't a civic forum... let's keep it civilized. D-bo i just don't get what you mentioned about "...if you're concerned about sound so much, you're eventually gonna buy a real shitty exhaust..." how am i gonna end up with a shitty one if i'm the only one researching as much as possible before i start spending money. Also exhaust vibrations at 140km/h isn't something i'm afraid of. Of course, it's going to be loud at that speed. My current exhaust is just annoying after you past 2500 rpm.. no matter what speed. I guess you wouldn't know since your car didn't come with a cheap muffler straight from the cat.

I've heard S14's w/ some really clean exhaust tones. I couldn't hear it when it was under normal city driving but it would purr nicely under acceleration. I haven't seen or met this dude ever since, but hopefully i will since that seems like the only way i'll find out. That definitely wasn't a stock system on that S14... it was almost like a exhaust note from a Z or g35 under medium acceleration... you know what i mean? With a 2.4 litre i never thought it was possible but obviously i've heard it before so... go figure.

i'm not mad at all... i'm just being rhetorical. On a forum you can only get your message through via words... so you have to be smart about how you use them. It's not just trying to make everyone listen to you via CAPITALIZING everything. lolz... that's so high school.

well, since u called me a smart ass...

you get 10 points for pointing out the obvious... in the US that is. Obviously, you've never heard any cars in Japan (maybe except for poser BMI videos). Back near my old house, my neighbor had a silver S15 silvia spec-R... his aftermarket exhaust sounded cherry.. wish he never sold it... i don't even know if he sitll lives there.

I believed i thanked everyone for their inputs and stated before that this thread is over... since i revived it... you could say i should end it as well. For the second time, i appreciate everyone's comments and will consider them.

kono thread wa owari ni shiyo. kore ijou tsuzukete mo imiwa nai. japanese 101 for you guys...
