Backfire

i have that same symptom. if i shift normally like around 2500rpm or leave off the gas and let it rev down i get a poping noise. personally, i just thought it was the changing of air flow, but good chances i am wrong. does anyone have a good reason why it does this?

On a completly unrelated note, I was driving the other day, and had a Mazdaspeed Protege do a ricer flyby on me, so I decided to pull a ricer flyby on him at about 130. When I let off the throttle, I held a 10 second flame, or something like that. Then, he follows me off the highway, and pulls up next to me at the light. There are 4 guys in the car, and one of them asks me, "Hey mang, you got that flame thrower kit?" I just started laughing hysterically, the light turned green, and I drove away without answering his question.


That had absolutly nothing to do with anything, just thought I would share that experience

i don't know if you guys have seen that dvd with all the cars going across the us (i think it was a race)...
anyhoo.. they made stops every once in a while and at one stop this guy had a mustang with the classic 'GTR' badge on it.. so one of the guys with the video camera and his buddy went up to the guy at the car and said "is this your car?" so the guy says yep yep its mine.. "its a gtr mustang?" yep yep.. "sweet, do you know if its rotary?" ....uhhh yeah.... "man it must be quick.. does it have headers??" yep...

...so the guys walk away laughing.. "a gtr mustang, rotary with headers...."

i think that guy could have won meatball of the year

i guess this goes with REDFC3S's experience, as it has nothing to do with the actual thread but was quite comical

I reverse my previous statment That occasional backfires while decelerating are perfectly normal to say that backfires indicate that the flux capacitor is blown and you need to hit 88 miles an hour for it to reset. in the meantime i suggest you use a train to push your car around... you'll move faster if you paint the logs red.... its like nitrous for trains.

I thought it was funny because everyones freaking out over a normal occurance. "oh god my headgasket / valve seals / Valves Seats / Piston rings are all fucked up because its backfiring off throttle" I explain how i thought it worked and the next post is...

so naturally I assume that it was wrong so i go to www.yourlogicalanswersucks.com and find that the reason it backfires is because of the flux capacitor. Who knew?
