Re: Which Carbon Fibre hood?

You cant believe how annoyed I get when I see that kind of garbage on the streets. Think about it... Import enthusiast have this image of "ricey'ness".... and its all due to people that have no common sence and do stupid things to their cars... like installing a bodykit thats not painted. Most of us arent tacky, ignorant people... but the bad apples ruin everything... and they give us all a bad name. The reason why most of those domestic, muscle car lovers hate imports is because of these kinds of ricey people... and they generalize all of us to be like that. Pisses me off.... but enough of my venting.

I think most of us here sympathize with you, it gives us all a bad name, whether you have a show car, a car for auto-cross or drag, or just one modified for the street. I get sick of being pigion-holed because of junk like that.

People ask, "what do you drive?" You pause, say "A honda," and then have to promptly launch into a defense explaining you don't drive around with big wings, un-painted body kits, a chopped muffler and an APC sticker on your your car. It's ridiculious. I once saw some old guy try to roll into a show with a Civic hatch that had an unpainted body kit and unpainted fenders. I was thinking, you have got to be kidding...are you blind...jeez...Garbage like this really annoys me also. It's ignorant fools like this that eventually make everything out to be "ricey." They're like a virus, they just destory destory destory with their bad-awful-lack of taste in anything.

As you said, most of us arn't tacky, ignorant people. One bad apple spoils the whole bunch.

There, I feel better now after that.

Re: Which Carbon Fibre hood?

So what if he has a body kit on it? it's his own damn car, if he likes it, then good. he's asking for advice on a hood, and you fuckers are criticizing on shit he must have worked hard for. he put the money and the effort in his car, so don't go mouthing off on how body kits are ugly. i dont even know why your posting in the BODYKITS thread anyway....
The newbie has spoken.
And fyi i think people put body kits on their car to look unique and stand out from other stock cars, and hell no would i put on one of those on my car.
and to help you out(which is the purpose of the forum) i think colored oem fiber hoods are sick and not that many people have them.

You must be blind, thats it. Either that or you are illiterate and can't read...yup.

Now why am I being an ass and sayng this?

Because we NEVER ripped him for JUST having a body kit, thats not the issue. He can have a kit, PLENTY of us HAVE body kits on our car.

"But wait eckoman," you ask, "you guys mentioned kits in all the previous posts!!"

You are correct!! However, we never ripped him for having a kit. The problem is that he HAS A KIT THAT IS UNPAINTED ON HIS CAR. You shouldn't put the kit on your car (exept to test fit it of course) until you have enough money to oaint it fully. An unpainted kit or a kit in just primer should sit safly off the car. YOu should leave it off the car until you can afford to have it properly finished, aka have it painted. Think of it this way, your not going to put some seat in your car that s just foam, the fabric/leather cover is off or being sewed. Of course not, you'll wait until it's finished.

Why? Because it looks stupid and is tacky to do it without the cover, when it's just the foam. It's the same thing with a body kit, people should wait until they can afford to have the kit painted before installing it. We weren't saying body kits are dumb, we are saying driving around with an UNPAINTED kit, one that is UNPIANTED OR ONLY PRIMERED, is tacky, looks trash and is stupid. That s what we were saying, not that ALL kits are dumb, that putting it on your car unfinished, unpainted is.

Now as for the "OEM VIS hood" suggestion. That is an even simpler issue. VIS OEM Carbon Fiber hoods fit great. Some of their "other styles" of carbon fiber hoods DON'T fit too great, IE, they have crappy and poor fittament, big gaps, etc. That was all with that one.

Re: Which Carbon Fibre hood?

Not only is it unfitted, unpainted and poorly placed, but he doesnt have side skirts, or suspension done. Also, he's riding on stock rims. It's all just tres rice.

Re: Which Carbon Fibre hood?

lol! Foam seats with no cover! hahaha! Good stuff Eckoman! hahaha

Also, in my own defense... I never commented on his ride. I dont even know if thats really his. I just commented on the cars I see driving around with unpainted body kits, and look super tacky and gaudy.

Hopfully some people who otherwise would not will now realize what we are trying to explain.
