Re: Malibu VS 300M

My dads had all those cars........300m intrepid and 300c the 300m is not that fast we got to like 0-60 in like 9 sec in slap stick mode. now the 300c with hemi is sooo crazy.....if u dont have the Hemi in that car thats just gay......300m Vs Mailbu....i would put my money on the 300m......If u dont knwo the person personally he could have probly got a new engine in it thats slower thats why he could have possibly lost.......neither car is really a "racer" I can see the Mailbu beating a Civic since they got like 127HP...Also u cant go very fast on rice.

well the day I picked up the car I was told it was a 4cyl... never thought twice about it, where the usual "v6" is there is a badge there... thought nothing of it..

so I'm at a red light, trying to figure out if the squeaking is a belt, so I put it in neutral and climb to about 2500 rpm, and just then some kid beside me is farting... er revving like he wants to race... I thought it'd be funny to see what this supposed 2.2 I4 was capable of... light turned green and we were side by side until 3rd gear when I instantly knew this wasn't a 4 banger, damn thing shot off and I was at 80 before I knew it... the guy pulled up beside me at the next light with his windows up and looked no where but straight forward...

I thought this was funny...

the last 2 cars I've bought I was either told it was a 4cyl or assumed it was, and lo-and behold they were both sixes.. ford contour (fun car, albeit unreliable) and this malibu

Re: Malibu VS 300M

THe 300M isnt that fast. I had some kid race me in his after talking a bunch trash and i had a 95 Intrepid 3.3L with 172,000 miles on it and i was dead even with him he didnt have much to say after that my car was bone stock now if he stayed even with him and pulled away with a 2.4L thats not for me too say but those 300M's are not that fast sorry. i have a 99 Malibu with a 3.1 that would walk a 300M but dont get me wrong they very nice cars but as far as High Output that remains to be seen

The 3.5 in the 300M is 99% the same as the one in the 1999-2002 Prowlers. In a lighter car like the Prowler, the 3.5 is not too bad. But a heavier car like the 300 is too much to move, at least in stock form.

I own a 1998 Malibu with the 3.1 and it is surprisingly quick. I think I got a good one, because mine has been trouble free and feels like a little 8 cyclinder when accellerating.

your pretty much right although i dont know about 99% because a prowler is fairly quick and yea figuring in weight and all that, but have you seen those 3.5 Intrepid those are slower than the 3.3 intrepids but dont quote me on that cuz im not sure if those 3.5's that are in the intrepids are High Output but from what ive seen those so called high output 3.5's may put out 250 hp but i cant imagine 220hp even make it to the wheels

and can anyone tell me how much horsepower my 99 3.1L Malibu has stock ive seen to many differnt numbers. Last thing does anyone know of any other malibu forums ive looked and this is the only one ive found

Re: Malibu VS 300M

wow everyone is still arguing about this post that I started lol. I killed a Probe GT with a 5 spd and a few minor bolt on mods. Got my ass handed to me by a '04 Maxima SE. Ummmm cant remember what else I have raced. I think my Malibu is tempermental. Sometimes she drives like a bat out of hell but sometimes feels as though she is lagging. I raced a Mazda Protoge one time and I won but just barely. That seemed odd.
