depends on the conditions....ABS can be bad on gravel....

Once you get past a certain point (speed), air resistance becomes exponentially greater (ie - power needed becomes greater and greater for each individual mph). All extra gears would do at this point would be for fuel economy.

I'm happy with my 4-speed auto, always have been.
