i get 15.5 city, rarely on the freeway, and 13 in 4lo

The rear axle ratio of the D-cab is 4.10:1. This will hurt anyones gas milage. A tonneu cover might help.

I just came across this forum while researching the practicality of swapping gears in the rear end like the old hot rodders used to do. I get 13-14 mpg mostly city driving. My wife drives the truck because it's only a few miles to work. I drive her 38 mpg Saturn because it's a 50 mile roundtrip for me.

I bought the 05 Tundra V-6 Sr5 Access cab 245 horses and I get 22 hwy about 18 city, I have almost 3,000.00 miles on it and its geting better.

I just purchased my 2000 SR5 TRD used w/ 22k miles. I consistently get 17 to 18 to and from work about 15 miles each way across town.
