Re: Question on converting a R32 GTS
your best bet is to get a 2 door GTS-t. Mechanicly you can do a complete conversion although it costs much more money. by complete I mean rb26dett swap and attezza member, 4 wheel drive, brakes and suspension. some people try to do just an engine swap. This is usually done with an RB26DETT and a 5 speed transmission from an R33 GTS25t. The 5 speed from the RB20 is not very good. This means doing some customizing to the existing oil pan/ tranny setup. Either welding the tranny shut
or making a custom oil pan. Either way you need one of these trannys There is a shop in Okinawa Japan that does these conversions and they charge 2200 USD for the RB26DETT with harnes and ECU, turbos and small parts. 500 for the 5 speed tranny and another 500 for piping and intercooler. to do a rear wheel drive conversion on a GTS-t they charge 5000 USD for all parts and labor. to do the same conversion, but a full one, 4 wheel drive and everything, they charge 7500 dollars. these costs are all after you suply the GTS-t to them. It seems kind of stupid to me though because a real GT-R can be had in okinawa for less than 8 grand so.... hope this helps some, oh yeah the name of the place is "speed factory" and it is in the town of Itoman in Okinawa Japan. http://blacklinux.com/pages/public/c...line/2004/may/

Thanks for the info. Is that a price for just parts? Cuz if it is for parts and all ther labor, It would be off to bring it over here, legalize it, bring it back to japan, do the swap, bring it back over here, then fight customs again... But hey... its an option...

Re: Question on converting a R32 GTS
for that cost just save up and buy an R32 GT-R. I know, I want one too. Figure 8-9 grand for a decent condition stock R32 GT-R plus 16-20 grand to legalize it... or just fucking move to canada and get an 89.
