this guys profile: occupation - mechanicle engineer.... you can't even spell mechanical and you expect me to believe you are a mechanical engineer? And i know an engineer wouldn't say as something stupid and uneducated as that ^. For one thing, not all japanese cars are turbocharged, there are cars like GT-R's that can run stock 12s (with TURBO LAG) and take corners as well (amazing isnt it) and for another thing this muscle vs import shit is SO OLD like get over it. seriously.

And you i do say the same thing to therse cars. All me mates call me an idiot for not likeing these cars but the main reason that I don’t like them is that Some people try to-do them up and they look abosolutly-shocking afterwards. But I do congratulate the people who actually pull it off looking like a great car.

But I do congratulate the people who actually do customize there car to look ilke a real racer.

the way that i see all these Japanese cars are that thay are all Arnold Schwarzenegger's (cracked up on steroide) no wonder you find so many wraped around a pole (too much HP that the engine can handle)
what i would like to see is a nicely supercharged enging with a smallish (emphasizing on the word small) turbo. Fiinished off with a nice paint job that wont go out in fashion in 1 year.

Most fast import racers use pertty big turbos that 'lag' below 4K-5K, but during a drag race, they usually launch at 5K or even 7K and they are already in full boost and do not have any lag problems.

Turbo lag is overrated, who cares if it lags up until 4K? If you're doing a drag race, you're not ver concerned about turbo lag because you launch at an RPM that beyon turbo lag already. There are pepole who launch thier evos at 1K before redline, you're telling me thay have lag problems?

Most people don't even go through the trouble of putting both a supercharger and a turbo because of the extensive tuning involved. most just go turbo because they don't worry about poer under 5K RPM, ever heard of 'vtec killer cams' (for drag racing) that cancel out the small lobes on a vtec Honda engine?

Woah dude, it sure as hell can, the VTTT Roadster, twin turbo lambo engine, runs low 10's from factory, im sure minor mod's would put it in 9's, and no EVO or $30k car run's 9's w/ "minor mods" (i just read first page and responded idk if anyone one else addressed this.)

I'm sorry, HOW many street-driven, 9 second japanese tuner cars can be found on the road daily? and driven by a 16-18 year old male?

The tuner scene is exactly like the musclecar scene always has been- maybe even worse because of the younger ages involved- full of legend, lore, and bench-racing B.S.

I'm not saying that it doesn't happen- I am saying that it does not happen often (or for very long at a time without a serious amount of funding). Nitrous and excessive boost make stock japanese motor go boom!
