Thumbs down daewoo sucks

Way to suck, guys. I bet Daewoo gave each of you like $6 to post these crappy messages. If I were driving a Daewoo I'd step off some tall building. VW rocks!!!!!111!1

This coming from someone who drives a New Beetle- aka a Golf dressed like a drag-queen and complete with a flower holder- I sure hope you are a chick- because if you were a guy driving one then get a Golf and do it properly.

And there is nothing wrong with Daewoo- firstly the Leganza costs about the same as a Golf but is far better-equipped, the dynamics are reasonably good for a Korean, it is an excellent looking car- and complete with a crappy ECOTEC 2.2 engine unfortunately- don't diss it until you've driven it

i must admit i do own a daewoo television. i have no complaints from that company. any company making an inexpensive car with decent quility is alright in my book. i have nothing againsy euro. cars but the dont make anything cheap. a new beetle can run $24,000 yea yea i know good car but dang i dont have $24,000 or could get the credit for it.

daewoo, the brand still has a horrible stigma attached to it. kindof like hyundai. i would have gotten a santa fe if it weren't made by hyundai.
my friend bought a daewoo and she was all excited and then i asked her if it was a daewoo and she looked down at the ground an muttered yes.

so it might be a great car but i wouldn't be proud of owning one.
and whats wrong with a new beetle? i'm secure enough about my masculinity to drive a beetle.

I`m proud of my Daewoo, it looks great, everybody likes it. Now, I wouldn`t be proud owning a beetle, it`s the most feminine car on earth.

No Daewoo product uses the Ecotec 2.2L engine. The engines used in the Leganza were sourced from Holden and are dated Opel designs...not the more modern Ecotec design.

Its safe to say they were pieces of rubbish when they first were exported in the 80's.

Like the Japanese the South Koreans had a lot to learn, today they produce cars with v6's eg: Daewoo Magnus.
They now have decent quality, good pick up. A TOP SPEED and ok resale value.

I use to be a critic until i met a person who actually owned an Espero.

They are decent, affordable and much better than what they use to be. The only problem the South Koreans have now is convincing the rest of the ignorant world.

Re: the great leganza

The dealer gave us a 2004 leganza to drive while our Grand cherokee was being repaired, and after 2 weeks with this car I wouldnt have one if it was given to me. It looks good and has an impressive amount of power but the seats where like sitting on a board with leather over it and at 22 MPG I was not impressed at all. Our Grand cherokee gets that kind of mileage and even with the Daewoo having all the options it was cheaply made and not comfortable enough to drive or sit in for more than 1 1/2 hours. It might be a good car if it had Better seats and sold for less than $6000, but at 6'2" I would not buy one.

Well if you are that tall you should have never been in a Daewoo that was your fault for letting them put you in one, my brother is 6'6" and his wife (she's 5'3") was going to get one but they couldn't because he's too tall.

Me personally, coming from a '94 escort, s/w, 5-spd, the Leganza is a big improvement. As for a Jeep you couldn't give me one and then pay me the price for it. I had a Dodge Dy"nasty" owned it for 1 year it was in the shop for 9 1/2 months when I had it. Everyone I have ever known has had crappy cars from them. They are nice the first 50k miles then the wipeout mechanism kicks in.
