Re: Datsun 240Z #5 Monte Carlo Rally 1972
The shell and decals are looking great Cyhalen.
I'd say leave the decals for at least a day. Although should you be in a hurry some gentle heat from a hairdryer can speed things up. Make sure the plastic doesn't get too hot! Are you going to clear coat it? If so I'd allow even more drying time so no moisture is traped under the clear. If you're not clear coating then it is not so critical. |

Wow Cyhalen!
Seems you did not have any problems at all so far. The body looks great! Really like the paintscheme and I'm awaiting more progress /Joel

Re: Datsun 240Z #5 Monte Carlo Rally 1972
Looking very nice, and as Phil sais if you will clear coat wait at least few days for decals to dry, they may look dry enough but I made same mistake to, and affter two days the water bubbles still came out. Excelent work on body and chasis, i realy like it.

Cychalen,
Nice Z! Great weathering on the chassis/exhaust. I'm building a non-rally version of this kit, and I'd like to show off the engine. The hood is still molded in. What technique did you use to open the hood? |

I have been too busy lately so no updates.
675datsun, I did not open the hood. I heard that the cotton thread technique works pretty well. Looking forward to your Z. |

The kit comes with fog lights although a bit oversized in my opinion.

Looks great! I'd like to get one of these kits too... on the other hand, I might want to actually build and finish some of my previous projects before getting any new ones
