Re: please help with bov question
If you are closing the MBC all the way and still getting spring pressure, something is wrong. I have a 6 pack on this, the spring fell out or was never installed. There should be a ball and spring inside, pull the adjustment all the way out and look in there. IF it is there, then the ball is not sealing on its seat, and its a defective unit.

Thanks for the ideas. Ill try to open my mbc, but I think its impossible to unscrew my mbc all the way. They did something to them...so you cant unscrew them all the way until they open. But...Ill test my mbc tonight. Thanks again.

Re: please help with bov question
You might be able to remove the NPT hose barbs, if it has them. I forget what BC you have.

Well....I just attempted testing my hallman mbc. I hooked it up like you told me Jake. With the compressor on the intake side of the mbc, and boost gauge on the wastegate side of the mbc.
I tested with about 24 psi. When I turn my mbc all the way out (down), I get about 24 psi at the gauge. When I turn my mbc all the way in (up), I get 0 psi. Logically, this seems right, but when my mbc is turned all the way out, my mbc makes this really weird noise. Sounds like the ball bouncing back and forth inside. Anybody have any theories? Or does this all seem the way its supposed to be? BACK TO THE LEAK TESTER???? |
