you wont be able to go back to school after taking a year off. sounds like a great idea but if your parents have medical insurance through work you wont be able to get it anymore and a lot of other crap. thats just one reason. the biggest reason, you wouldn't be able to get your lazzy ass up and actually go

i might actually go to the military but a car would be the last reason a go.
lets see i have two brothers, one in the marines(might go to iraq in 7 monthes/22years old)
another in the ohio army national guard (has been in iraq/ kuwait for almost 2 years and is currently spending time on to of a hummer doing convoy security through baghad/ just turned 21)
and my dad has also been a cop for 23 years.

Exman, as long as you have better reasons than a car, which it seems you do, then that's cool. Despite all the hard times (or maybe because of them) the Marine Corps was one of the best things I've ever done with my life. Just think everything through and do the right thing. Good luck.

I'm tired of everyone blaming shit on Bush, when you know damn well you couldn't do any better as president. Funny how when 9/11 happened everyone wanted to go to war, and we had such pride in the U.S. of A. But soon as we begin fighting a war, and people die, which should be common sense. People bitch and moan, i mean for christ sakes i'm 16, and i understand the effects of war. Don't sit here and whine about it if you don't support our troops. It would also be pointless to pull out of war, this late into it we would have wasted millions upon millions of dollars and American lives for no reason.

That's my daily rant for today.

There never was any link between al-quaida and sadaam. There never were weapons. Saddam posed no threat to the USA. How can you support a man that goes to war based on lies?

Now dont get me wrong. I agree with having a powerful military, and if someone comes wanting to attack us, then we should fight back. What pisses me off though, is that the iraq war was not justified. He had to lie about it to get us to support it. Thats what i have a problem with. Tons of americans and iraqi civilians dying based on lies!!!!!!

Oh....and to keep this related to cars....marine recruiters always were like, man you got a nice car, you could get some money, join the marines and have a sick ass car....

but what the hell good is a nice car if my bodies blown to bits in the sand???

it is sad that people are so very little minded. but thats ok. you actually dont think that saddam never had weapons. there is a big desert out there. at the very firts idea there they might have got cought they moved them. but if you wait till closer to the elections you will see that we have found weapons and we are waiting to releas them. and i sure hope those dune coons dont try to pull some silly shit befor the elections. and even if you dont like bush. i sure as hell wouldn't vote for Kerry out of spite. that would be silly

I used to feel the same way as you guys, when I was younger. I used to spout off about how we should go out and kick the shit out of anyone who fucked with us. Well let me save you some embarrassment and disappointment: it doesn't work that way. It was fine for fighting Nazis, and it was fine for getting the Iraqis to pull out of Kuwait, but brute force has never beaten terrorism, and it never will. The best you can ever hope for is constant war with no end in sight. Israel has been fighting Palestinian terrorists since the end of World War Two. England has been fighting Irish terrorists for over 100 years. No organized military in the history of the world has ever fully extinguished a terrorist cell through military power. In fact, it's the terrorists who hold all the victories. Terrorism beat the US Marines in Beirut in 1983, beat the US Army and Marines in Somalia, drove the Russians out of Afghanistan, and killed US civilian support for the war in Vietnam. You can drive people out of other people's countries, but you can never drive them out of their own. It doesn't work that way. I was part of the first wave of Marines into Albania and Kosovo (26 MEU, the tip of the spear - oorah!) back in 1999. What do you know... we're still there. We lost a lot of good people in that shithole of what's left of Yugoslavia, and it was all for nothing. I don't regret what I did there, but I do regret that I was so unrealistic and naive about it.

I voted for Bush last time while most of you were in Junior High and I'll vote for Kerry this time - and you STILL won't be voting. So I don't even know why I'm arguing this.

I'm from New York, man - taxes don't get much higher than that. But there's more to government than taxes. What does it matter that Bush sent us all a $300 check three years ago, when gas prices are .50 a gallon higher, house prices are up more than 200%, and we're in a limitless war that costs us millions every second? It all catches up to you eventually, one way or another, and it has certainly made up for the little check I got in 2001. At 10 gallons a week, the gas hike alone has cost me $780.00. Twice the national tax refund. Kerry might not be the greatest president we've ever seen, but he certainly isn't any worse than Bush.
I'm a Republican, not because I blindly follow every Republican leader, but because I believe in the Republican ideal - a very limited federal government. "Limited federal government" and "George W Bush" have probably NEVER been uttered in the same sentence. States' rights are out the window, which is what the democrats have wanted all along. So no democrat could possibly make it any worse.

First, Bush and his administration have admitted that there are no weapons. They say now that sadaam had the power to maybe produce them, which is still crap.

But what i really wanna know is how can you support a man that is holding on to the weapons, hiding them, just to help him get re-elected. Show the rest of the world these weapons so that maybe they will support us for once.

What kind of horrible president would let american citizens keep dying and dying, just so he could hold out on proving to the world there are weapons of mass destruction.

Oh, and i want to say thank you to all the men and women who blindly join the military to go fight for whatever the president wants. If bush wanted someone to go there, then someone would go to iraq to fight. Im just glad there are enough simple-minded "patriotic" people in the country willing to go die in the sand, because if there werent, i might have to go, we might need a draft, but i sure as hell dont want to go fight some bullshit war against nobody who never threatened me or my person. Oh, and how can you pick Bush over Kerry? Kerry fought honorably in a war he didnt believe in. Bush, and all his advisors he has now, got out of it the cowards way by joining the texas air national guard. I dont support kerry's policies all the time, but i respect the man for what he did. Bush ran away like a little baby and hid behind his daddys money.
