I understand where you're coming from Auto_newb. I live on Vancouver Island where there is even less to do. There is a drag strip near Victoria, but it is only about 200 metres (1/8th mile) long. The roads are mostly shitty chipseal which are packed with pathetic, unattentive drivers. At least there are less coffee drinking, cellphone talking, newspaper reading, toenail clipping (etc.) morons here then in Vancouver.

With all due respect (which is none) you're a fuckin' moron! First off get a job. Secondly, get a girlfriend/boyfriend/it or whatever Third who in the shit are you going to race in a '93 Corrola Station wagon. and Four, why are you worried about cops. I'd really like to see you try to break the speed limit in under a 1/4 mile. No offense.

Newb...you act like you're in the worst possible place ever, simply cuz ur bored and theres no where to reach 50 mph...I DO live in "the states", yes, the United Fucking States of Fucked Up America, where all our "freedoms" described in our constitution are constantly getting us arrested or beat (freedom of press, religion, speech, etc.). But I don't sit here and Bitch about how bored I am, or how much I hate this place cuz theres nothing to do. I don't bitch cuz I know theres people less fortunate than me. Hell, my neighbor got 3 of the 6 windows knocked out of his car, by hail, and he can't afford to fix them (BTW, its storm season here). I don't bitch cuz the family I left, back in California, is having more money problems than I am, AND I CAN'T HELP! How do you think that makes me feel? pretty pissed off that I can't help my mother that supported me for 18 years. I can't hardly afford to get my car fixed, check the link in my sig, I'm borrowing a friends car to go to work. At least you have a car, at least you're not starving (I'm not, but there are people that do), at least you're getting a college education. Enjoy the things you have in life, cuz it's gonna suck when its all gone and all you have is work and sleep. Make the 1 hour trip to the race track once a week. Go to the motocross track every other week. You act like 1-2 hours is a long time.
Our ancestors had to farm by hand, no machinery. They had to walk to town, and tend the herds. They still had time to sit down with their families and have fun. With all of our technological advances, why do we have less time for ourselves? |

experiment with ur car...make a hood scoop...grab some tubing and make a header...clean out your intake manifold...design a new suspension system...hell, you've got a computer, get Dyno2000 and rig yourself up a new motor...there's lotsa shit you can do to keep you busy, especially when you have a car and a computer...some people are just too lazy to do anything except complain about being bored, and blame everyone else for it when they have nothing to do with it.

Between work, my Girlfriend, Hobbies, and always Helping friends and family with crap, I wish I had time to be Bored. Its just a part of life.
