another updates. hehehe....


seats are ready for spraying. i'll try matt black for vinyl or leather effects. (im open with YOUR ideas... what i should paint for those effects? semi-gloss maybe?)


gearbox (+ driveshaft) and exhaust. krylon original chrome... any way i can do to bluff the shine?? i thought its too shiny. i cant get hold of any testor metalizer. so... i tried krylon chrome. driveshaft was bent by accident, need to fix it soon. super glue is my solution, any others??? ideas are welcome.

thats all... body still in my 'paint station booth' (just a cardboard cutted suitably)... im poor. hahaha. anyway, ill keep u posted.

Flat black should be cool for the seats and interior, its what I use (except for brightly colored seats etc of course or colored trim).
Looking good! I like the finish on the exhaust system, looks great.

thats what im gonna do, but hav no dark grey sprays. so, ill go for matt black or semi-gloss black. depends on which comes out better. but... as for the driver seat, i still prefer dark grey with red linings on the middle area. so ill just spray 1 or 2 layer of red over the black. so i wont get that boring black interior.

Update Update.. but not much.
i've painted everything matt black. so, its just little color tweaking here and there to finish it, then assemblying time. as the body, its nearly there. i just finish the pure white body color, drying session now with my home made drying oven. next... gloss black trim on the body then matt black trim on the windows surround, then polishing time. after that.... clear coating (thinking of 3 layers). then... its finish. in the mean time, ill assemble the interior n chassis. wish me luck....!!

body finally nearly finished.

any of you guys has problem with masking tape? my masking tape ruined my paint job. it was very smooth, then after i paint my black color and peel the masking tape, it seems like pitting into my paint. very annoying. so, i used rubbing compund to smooth them up back, but never like the original condition.
for info, when i dried my paint (after i spray it), i put my model in a 10L bucket, then put some light to heat it up from the top, then cover them by a carboard. the reason i did this is that paint dries better if you heat it up during the curing process. is that true?? will it make any mess on the masking tape?? anyway, its not that perfect now.

The only way paint actually dries - cures - is with time. Lots of time. You can't rush the paint.

yeah, at least dont touch the car for a week after each coat...(like diff. colored coat) wuts your homemade oven btw?
