Re: Will 1/24 SLR be the next project from TAMIYA??

There are a lot of things Tamiya should do. But I agree with most of the people in this thread - more simple models like the S2000. I can bear curbside, but none of that crappy molded in suspension. And as great as the Enzo and Carerra GT are, those aren't ever going to make it off my shelf onto my workbench. I heard that Tamiya is keeping off cars because they don't make much money from them... well, if all you do is toss out one painfully expensive (albeit beautifully engineered) kit a year, what do they expect? I mean, no one expects them to pump out Fujimi/Aoshima numbers.... they would suffer some quality in that case.... but a few more would be nice.

My guess is that Tamiya will announce the SLR by the fall hobby show (along with the BAR 006).
This is definitely a good news...if they wanna product low-cost model, how about SMART?

Revell makes one; it's a simple and a cheap kit, but a Silly nontheless.

1/12 scale SLR

if they are going to make one then lets push the boat out and maje it in a 1/12 like the enzo!! They have sold in bucket loads. I have two and am keeping one as a investment. They should also have made the porsche GT a 1/12 too

Well, as long as it's here, did they make the kit or not?

Re: Will 1/24 SLR be the next project from TAMIYA??

just a hunch, i think it could be a 1/24 version of the f430. well Tamiya recently created a 1/10 version of it, then why not make a 1/24 one?

Re: Will 1/24 SLR be the next project from TAMIYA??

Be careful expecting 1/10th Tamiya RC cars to also appear in 1/24th. It usually doesn't happen unfortunately. We'd have so many cool models if it did.

And what intersest would a 1/2th SLR like the Enzo be? The Enzo was a frigen diecast!

Re: Will 1/24 SLR be the next project from TAMIYA??

..And that Diecast was something in the neighborhood of 4 or 5 hundred £ , right? Saw some ads, from some shop with these sicko-prices in Tamiya Model Magazine .
