Hmm...I hope it isn't the same engine that GhettoLegs was trying to buy!

so, just to make sure everythings is clear in my mind....if all i plan on doing is I/H/E, what needs to be done to make this transplant work? I need engine mounts, right? What about a oil line ot supply the head with oil, this is also needed, correct? Is this very difficult, i'm not doing it persoanlly, but a mechanic friend is doing it, is this totally out of the ordingary, i think he's swapped engines before, but let's say he hasn't, will it be tough to do if he has some form of instructions?

thanks alot everyone, i'm kinda slow (which i guess is why i want a new engine...wow..that was cheesy )

by engine mounts, do you mean the mounts that came out of the integra, or new engine mounts from HAsports?

thanks

Yeah, the mounts come from the integra. The rods aren't completely neccesary if you follow the precautions I mentioned.

This site let's you get to nitty-gritty of ls/vtec:

http://www.geocities.com/thelsvtec/

And you should read the rest of this, to see if it answers anymore questions:

No problem.

1. Reduce the rev limiter to atleast 7500.
2. Don't go for major power adders, like nitrous.
3. If you do, get atleast rods
4. Pray

Compression test is a must. (You could even replace the rings) Leakdown wouldn't hurt. Clutch should be replaced just in case. Belts and hoses too. You should also check if it atleast starts up.

you said if i do a big power adder, such as nitrous, i should replace at least the rods...what should i replace them with? b16a rods? if i got nitrous, i'd just get a zex kit, and run a 55-65 shot, will that wreck things if i got the right plugs, and got new rods?

Then everything but the start up thing you can do. You need to ask for a kind of a start up warranty in writing. And obviously get all his information and check it. And becareful the motor isn't stolen.

Replace them with aftermarket rods like eagle, endyn or crower. As for the nitrous...I can't tell you the exact breaking point but the R/S ratio is not optimal for anything big. Common sense tells me that a 50/60 shot occasionally shouldn't hurt.
