Re: Please Help 2002 Elantra
valve clattering on a new engine ?
i know this engine very well and have built many hyundai 2.0l in my day if i had to make an educated guess based on what ive seen in the field i would say that someone confused the intake and exhaust shims that sit between the lifter and camshaft . i have seen brand new box engines that i had to reshim the head inorder to get the appropriate valve clearence . with the wrong shims in place you will get a loss of power and one hellofa noise |

hyundai service
I had all the clear coat come off my hatch and I called hyundai customer service direct and they said they'd repair it, free.
Well, when it came time to find a dealer to it, they all say hyundai is full of crap and know that the dealers aren't going to do the rapair. So, I called Hyndai back and they said it is up the the Manager of each Hyundai dealership to decide on whether to repairs these items or not. Needless to say, I have a car that looks like shit and nobody will do anything about it. |

"we did not have a Hyundia oil filter put in when we had the oil change"
I've had a 98 hyundai elantra for 4 years and never once had a service done by a dealership. I've been using Fram oil filters and Supertech oil (the good stuff) and never had a problem. There b.s.ing you around. |
