Any luck getting yours taken care of?

I got my 95 back yesterday and was suprised to see that they had put the steel lines on. I was told originaly that the old style rail would be put on and when the recall is issued I would have to bring car back in for the update. When I called the service manager to see what was up and thank him he said mine was one of the first 95's that GM had covered. He said the recall should be comming soon for all 95's.

Anyone that has had the problem should keep calling. Problem is most 95 owners don't know anything about the recall and probably the local mechanic doesn't either.

Re: Fuel rail recal and fuel pump preasure regulator

Can I get your actual name? I've got the same problem with my 95 and am getting the run around from Oldsmobile. I was coming back from a trip to a beauty supply store on Thursday when I smelled this strong odor of gas and called my husband from my cell. I was getting very fatigued suddenly. Got home and he checked and found a leak in the FRS. I coulda been killed!!! I want this fixed but don't feel I should have to swallow the cost since they've already recalled the 96 and 7's. It's the same damned part! Any help and/or advice would be appreciated as I need my car back on the road.
Thanks, Beth

I finally got my 95 rail done on July 14, after sitting at the Buick-Pont dealer since late April with a busted rail. Called the 800# for the 3rd time and tried to get Darla's ext.. The gal I got had to pull my file first. I explained how this was supposed to go; she puts me on hold to get auth., then calls the service mgr. at the dealer where the car is. I had the mgr. and dealer names ready. She asked if the car had been diagnosed already, and I said yes as they originally were trying to get $500 from me to put in an oldstyle rail. She put me on hold, called the dealer, got the serv. mgr.'s voice mail but said she would follow up. Long story short; it was finished 2 days later, with the new rail. So they are doing the replacements for diagnosed-failed rails only (liability?). Part #s are 12499781 for rail and 12499840 for seal kit. MY invoice said "perform 04014 recall" and V1149. The 95 rail is different hence the wait for it to get into the parts system.

You may want to look on this board to see the American 800 # and call that to see if they have any info on the Recall for other countries and when they kick in!

Re: Fuel rail recal and fuel pump preasure regulator

It appears the fuel rail recall is now officially extended to the 95 models. This also includes replacement of the plastic fuel return line unique to the 95 models. I have scanned the document I got in the mail and posted it to share will all of you. I personally had made several phone calls in the last month or so to Oldsmobile and had always been told the 95's would not be included, so the change is very recent. The recall also includes a reimbursement form for those who had their car repaired earlier and still have the receipts. Don't let your dealer simply "inspect", insist on all the nylon fuel rail being replaced, this is your life we are talking about!

Good Luck to all,
