Don't listen to the majority of these guys...I am not sure but most (not all) seem to be teenagers who just have gotten their first car or picked up an import tuner magazine and think they have rice in their blood. First off a motor swap at this time is the worst thing you can do.....Since you say your car is new the warranty will be null if you swap motors....The info I provided will help any motor ....While the gains are minimal they are noticeable. I have personally used the mods I mentioned and will not recommend anything that I have not tested myself. One thing you should check before any engine mods are done is......Make sure you will not void your warranty. The simple bolt ons can be changed back if needed. Be sure what your intentions are...Keep in mind also that keeping a daily driver as a race car is a somewhat hard thing to do. Dependability is the main factor in a daily driver. Consider buying a low option civic hatch and using it to race. They can be found for a few hundred bucks (needing some work in most cases) and are easy to find. Also you did not mention where you are from.....If your state has smog laws you will have to find part that are C.A.R.B legal.

Good luck and congrats on the new car.

Re: Pleeze

Exactly what E Honda said. Simple bolt-ons are the way to go with your brand new car. But i believe even the header and probably the intake will void your warranty, so I would go to your local Honda dealership and ask them about it before you do anything. But yes once your warranty runs out save up the $ and go with the k20 swap or turbo.

try again kiddo - ur intake and headers wont do much for power
if you want power it will cost ya thats the bottom line - and if you like ur car then you dont need to buy a HATCH and use it to race ahve fun with this one

The bolt-ons by themselves shouldn't void the warranty at all. The only way they would is if something were to go wrong with the engine, and the cause is directly due to whatever bolt-ons were installed. Obviously an engine swap is going to void the warranty, no question about that. However, there should be no problems putting on an I/H/E, as long as it's done correctly.

A turbo will def void the warranty........

And not a quick un-install as it requires alot of mods....Maybe consider a 50 to 75 shot of Nitrous.....

But good luck on what ever it is you try to install.

Kiddo.......hahaha.......I have been building cars for 22 years....I think I am beyond kiddo......

Go ahead take this bad advice and when you jack summin up on your NEW daily driver that has your car sitting while you wait for parts or in the shop costing you time off work. Makes perfect sense to me. On a stock motor the best bolt on for power and torque is a header..... Since you said you are on a budget I refrained from including the turbo, supercharger or nitrous.

well man. you have a four door civic. so you really dont have much going for you. the only way you're gonna get real power is with plenty of money. you can always take out the interior (do you really need those back seats?) and get some carbon fiber parts (hood/fenders/trunk lid) to reduce the weight. an engine swap would be ideal but expensive. you could always get a JR supercharger or a turbo kit but those can be very expensive. if you want you could always do a junkyard turbo and scrap around for parts until you can build one.
congratulations, you just won the fucktard of the thread award. A four door civic is slow because it's a four door? Wow, that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Not much slower, not much at all. You tell him that a swap is expensive but you tell him to get $1,500 worth of CF parts which would knock off maybe 1/4 of a second? Wow. He could spend $1,500 on performance parts and take a few seconds off his time. Repeat after me "I will never ever hit the "submit reply" button again"

If you guys cannot be helpful then don't reply. You make the rest of us Civic owners look like idiots.

Basic bolt ons will not do much for performance. The best way to get performance out of any Civic are motor swaps, turbos or superchargers. But since you have a 03 Civic your options are limited to the K series engines for the moment. Some companies are coming out with turbos and superchargers for newer cars, but you have ot be patient.

What I can tell you is that a Civic is a great handling car. Challenge your friends to an autocross and see who has the better PAX time, which is driver skill instead of RAW time.

$1500.00 and a few seconds off 1/4 mile time..... I would like to hear what can be bought for $1500.00 that will knock off 3 seconds of time. Since 2 seconds would be a couple and a few has to be 3 or more...Just curious.....
