Re: Turbo Upgrade?

i don't think joe was being a dick about it. he's just trying to help out. in theory you CAN get a much bigger turbo and lower the boost, however, you have to take the turbo lagg into consideration.

Re: Turbo Upgrade?

IF you are serious about 400 whp, and you know what you are doing, I would suggest the TDO6H 20g to stay bolt on, or an AGP 50 trim t3t4 kit if you just want to say you have a t3/t4 Both will get you there. Sure you can throw a huge turbo on and just turn the boost down. But a 56 trim at 15 psi will get smoked by a 16g at 15 psi, because of the extra lag. So choose wisely. I like to go a little big, so I have room to grow. But of course now I have a turbo that doesnt spool until 5000 rpm, which wouldnt work for most poeple.

More important than turbo choice is how you plan to tune this car. AFC/logger/chip, or DSMlink? Tell us what fuel you plan to make 400 whp on and I can tell you what you will need for minimum fuel mods. To see what makes 350 whp on a 16g, see Joe Gs mod list on my website.

Re: Turbo Upgrade?

dude.... buy this... a big fmic, SAFC, fuel pump, 660s, a big 16g, a clutch, greddy bov, cone filter, 3in downpipe to 3in full apexi n1 exhaust (like me then your car will hit 12s that is about $3k right ther... depending on wher you get it, it can be more or less... be sure to search ebay and www.dsmtrader.com good luck and be safe...

Re: Turbo Upgrade?

I just upgraded my turbo on my 95 gst. I went with the small 16g and let me tell you, that turbo is awesome. I aam only running 8psi boost and i still have the stock fuel pump and injectors and i ran a 13.9 at the track in the 1/4. Once i change the injectors and pump i can up the boost to like 20psi and if i can hook up im thinking i should hit the low 13s or high 12s with more work avalible on that turbo. So the Small 16g is a sweet turbo dude.

Re: Turbo Upgrade?

For 400 whp, a 16g wont help you. I would recomend a TDO6h 20g, SBR sells one for 999. Big front mount, 255 and FPR, and at least 660s are all mandatory. Bigger injectors if you go with DSMlink or a Jeff O chip, or for an AFC if you never plan to run race gas. .

Re: Turbo Upgrade?

With all the shit I typed, I can't believe you called me a dick. For one, you DON'T know what you are talking about really.. asking if you could do all these things. I gave you options, so did a lot of people in the thread. If you want to run 12's, a 16g will do fine for you. If you want 400whp (lower 12's) then you need to get a td06h 20g, or a 50 trim T3/T4. Don't BS me and say you know what you are doing... because you could have searched for all 20 of your questions all throughout this thread. I'm still willing to help you, so let me know what you think is necessary for your car.
