Over Moderated

I don't know the situation, nor have I personally had a problem with Moppie. I know it's the internet, but if people are gonna leave because of 1 or 2 people, why not try to resolve it..whether by PMing/AIMing the person you have a conflict with or take it to Igor if all else fails? If I don't like someone's topic or post then I just move on to the next one.

G$ and everyone ele thinking of leaving...I hope you change your minds about leaving...but I want you to know I have enjoyed reading your posts.

Yea really, I was talking to him last night and he seemed just a tad peved, not nearly this much. Well, I say he's an adult and he can make his own decisions. I do hope he changes his mind though, now who will harass Tazdev with me!?
Now as to why the kiwi threads were gettin locked... I don't have a clue, I was posting in the Perky Nanas thread and I don't think there was any logical reason for it to get locked.... Any explinations are welcome....

My guess is that the threads got WAY off-topic (i.e. the Perky Nana one) and that’s why they were locked. Just my guess though, I could be totally wrong.

Sorry, dawg. Can't get specific about people on top when you are on the bottom, ya know? Many know who exactly comments are referring to regardless, but I understand what you are saying. Sometimes threads are locked simply due to their length. The odds of someone posting for the first time in a 15-page thread are slim to none, and that becomes a barrier to the open communication here. For example, I didn't post in the Perky Nanas thread simply because I never had the time to read it all...

As for threads about postwhoring... well, no one should really be surprised when they're closed.

If any of you have a problem with any particular moderator, please feel free to approach Igor or any other moderator you fell comfotable with so any issues can be addressed.

But then were will the PWs go? I think a SINGLE thread for it is a good idea so that people (who will remain nameless) don't go all over posting and replying to themself and mucking up the conversation that is going on.

As far as I was concerned I was simply doing my job based on those reasons.

And besides the Kiwi threads get a little boring after about 4-5 pages, so to make it easier to include everyone here at AF in the convo's then I close them, and allow another one to open and start again.
Look at all the sheep threads we have. Each is differnt, and each involves a variety of differnt members, and each is bloody funny. But after a few pages they all desecend into a private conversation between a few members.

If you want to have a private conversations then try AIM or ICQ or some other chat program, try picking up the Telephone (local calls are still free in NZ, and I know most of the SDU members are Auck based) or get in your cars and go vist each other.
If that is to hard then maybe ask Igor for a Kiwi BS chat forum.

I had hoped to prehaps create a NON-serious funy Kiwi Army on AF.
Just for a laugh, give the long time and high posting members high ranks, make P-Man Mt T and Razor FTO-Girl etc comanding officers.
It would only be a joke, and bring some Kiwi type Humor to the Forums.
However it seems some people take the online world a little to seriously, so I'll forget about entertaining people.



Razor it would have been nice if you had PM'd me with your concerns, or if you had just gone straight to Igor or another mod, we dont need personal problems discussed in public forums.

AF is a BIG place, and has a huge variety of differnt members from all over the world, its important to cater to all of them, and allow all of them to have thier say. A Forum filled with topics that are all driven offtopic into personal discussions bewteen a minority of members is not an inviting place to new members.
New Zealanders often pride themselves on being friendly out going people, and a look around will show that we often the first to welcome new members, and the first to offer comfort and advice to other members. Lets not let this interfer with that.

Now if you take an objective look around its quite clear that the forums here at AF are not over moderated, we all spend a lot of time keeping the forums clean from rubbish, spammers, and helping all members become involved in the goings on. We strive hard to allow the freedom to express your own opinion, and none of us get anything for it other then the satisfaction of knowing we've helped.

If anyone is unhappy with that then tell us. No member has ever been banned for disagreing with a mod, and I know that if it ever happened Igor would ban the mod in question with out thinking about it.
Its disagreements and differing of opinions and the freedom to express them that attracted me to AF in the first place, and I hope that is allowed to continue.





Now that Iv got my little rant out of the way, you'll have to excuse me. I have a life in the real world I need to attend to.

Yeah, I'm with Gangstar- I have Slim to NONE to contribute to this forum, unless someone wants to know about Drums...I just hang around in hopes of Catching some of Yog's Or DVS' humor, or in case either of my cars has a problem I can't figure out. I hate to have to say it, but if Yogs goes, I probably wouldn't hang around for long, at least until my cars broke down again. But Right now, I'm perfectly happy for the time being.
