Re: How good is this system??

Hell NO!!
The first thing I did was get rid of the stock speakers.
I am using Kicker K60's 2 Way for all 4 speakers powered by the Alpine F240 4 Chan
For my headunit I have a Kenwood Excelon X879.

As for Paul D (moderator) I don't understand your question????

Thanks
I assume the kicker L7's are Dual 4 ohms

1001BD isn't 1 ohm stable and running it at 4 ohms is a waste. I would suggest running a 1001BD for each sub because these subs need ALOT of juice.

I personally had a dvc 2 ohm 12L5 running off a U-dimension 2k1 AMP (1000+ watts @ 1 ohm) and it handled it with EASE. I actually beat out most ppl that have 2-4 subs, i hit 143 on an audiocontrol mic. So quite honestly running a 1001 BD for each sub would be the ideal setup. Well I would actually suggest a better amp cuz RF kinda licks balls. I used to run a partial sponsorship and i cannot even begin to tell you HOW many amps and SUBS came DEAD on arrival. Like seriously how does someone get 2 defective 500BD's IN A ROW? And a defective HX2? All shipped staright from RF in AZ. Figure that out. They supposedly HAND TEST each amp and sub but yet I happened to get two screwy amps becuase it was a "bad batch" of 500BD's. Anyways my 2 cents

Re: How good is this system??

The only thing I have ever used are RF Amps and they have always been reliable. I use to run one 12L7 Solo with a 351M at 2 Ohms and it was loud for only using 375 watts.
I assumed if I can get 500 watts @2 ohms for each L7 it will be much lounder.

dude just check out my signature, that shit hits SO DAMN hard. It shakes the fuck out of my trunk in my grand prix and the spoiler really bad. I have the gains turned down yet they are still loud. The only reason im selling it is so help fund my turbocharger and i dont want the weight in the back. Kicker are pretty good subs but i dont like rockford shit. Make me an offer. My friend blew his rockford subs 30 mins after having them, didn't even over power them. I know 1 person who blew his amp somehow and another guy who just doesn't like it cuz its weak.

Re: How good is this system??

Thanks for the offer but I will take my chances and see how this setup sounds first.
I have been doing way to many things and haven't had time to set it up.

wut a lot of people need to realize is that sound is soo much more then just the lows...it involves highs and mids too...ive realized a lot of people i know tend to just buy huge subs and amps and think they have an ultimate system but they really only have 1/3rd. if you really want us to help u with how ur system sounds, u need to tell us the deck, speakers amps and subs so that we can picture the entire thing...

Re: How good is this system??

so what if hes just interested in how his subs sound?? how many people do you know that started their interest in car audio with top of the line 3 way components? thats what i thought. subs appeal to people first. let him be the judge of how it sounds without good components and hell realize over time that he has to upgrade his front stage.

to the original poster... L7s are great subs for spl and can be decent for SQ, but tiny sealed boxes are not exactly wonderful for L7s. yeah yeah low EBP theyre better sealed than vented.. its all BS. L7s are vented subs end of story. you might have to just suck it up and sell one of em so that you can put one L7 in a proper enclosure and sent it plenty of power. i think youd be surprised how loud a single well done L7 12 install can be.

thats just my suggestion though.. but good luck fitting 2 L7s ported in proper enclosures (bigger than you think prolly.. not just kicker lowest recommended.. more like towards the higher end of recommendations.) in a civic trunk.

Re: How good is this system??

He if he is just after some then selling one nd making one enclosure aould be his best bet. Or he could sell them both and look into an RE-MT15". Get a 2500rms amp and put in a 5cuft ported enclosure he could be just as loud with that single 15 as he would with 2 solobarics (noah hit like 151 with the 15 and fryman hit 144 with an avalanche 18). Bass is one part of a system but i see people riding around with nothing but bass coming out of there car sounds like shit but whatever gets you off. My friend has 2-15"L7's with a boss 4800watt amp probably closer to 1200 and to tell you the truth it sounds like shit, cant here any lyircs or actua music just bass and tha bass doesnt even sound that good granted you can hear it from about a 1/2 mile away it still sounds horrible. The new hifonics amps are rated better than they used to be they are more acurrate. As for rockford unless its power series its usualy junk so its not worth the grnad for a 1500rms amp whan you can get a PPI, Hifonics, or cadence amp for about 1/3 the price. Like i have to post when someone starts bitching about whats good and whats not car audio is about personaly preference, buying 3 or 4 g's of audio equipment isnt going to gve you the best system its takes proper tuning, proper enclosure, a good balance between speakers and bass and well it can take alot of effort before having something good. Good luck with everything and do some research if your getting a bigger amp look into the "big 3" dont waste money on a cap unles you really need it.

Don't ever look at cars as just imports or domestics. Just because a car is made in a certain country doesn't mean that it is anything like another car from that country. An example of this is Mitsubishi reliability, just because they are Japanese doesn't mean that they are as reliable as a Honda or Toyota.

Re: How good is this system??

I was just about to say that . And what kind of setup is your SE 15 in?
But ya i would worry about your Front Stage, an then work to the Sub Stage....its only a small part of the frequency range of music ya know

Re: How good is this system??

sorry for a waste of a post but i had to jump on lookin4sound. youre in here talking about what a great system should be and look what your running. stock 6 1/2s, pioneer 6x9, sony deck, audiobahn. ha. i really hate to be the dickhead but that is the most garbage setup in this forum. work on your own before giving advice, please?
