Re: Kinda Sad today HP rating per Gtech Pro
first of all your car is over 13yrs old, there is no way it is making even close to the stock hp rating anymore, its diminshed alot. so you prolly only started with like 85hp then the intake/header combo prolly raised you around 98hp tops.

were you talking to me?
My engine is probably as good as new. I can go run a compression test if you want, I cant remember he numbers, but they were all 2-3psi above the high listed in my FSM. The person who owned it befoer me babied the hell out of it, so it has excellent ring seal and carbon buildup (increased compression). The header was port matched and I cut a vent in the brake duct for the CAI also. Besides, how would you know? I could have put in a rebuilt d16a6 200miles before the tests. |

Re: Kinda Sad today HP rating per Gtech Pro
Ok enuff of that I retested today I did a fuel pressure increase, adjusted the timing, put in new NGK plugs, and a new fuel filter. And I now get 101hp . I really did not feel the difference but it does feel a little smoother. Who knows. But I feel better now.

Re: Kinda Sad today HP rating per Gtech Pro
yes i was, and with the numbers you posted it was safe to assume stock motor, no matter how babied it was, engine's dont last forever. and if that was a rebuilt d16a6 in there, i feel real bad for you if thats all its getting.

Re: Kinda Sad today HP rating per Gtech Pro
GTECH measures WHP, if you can put down more than 105whp with a stock (even brand spankin new) D16A6, you are magic or forgot to install a drivetrain.

Re: Kinda Sad today HP rating per Gtech Pro
Isnt the GTECH like $300. I know it was a couple years ago atleast. For some reason I dont think I would be able to trust one, something that isnt even connected to your motor telling you the numbers your putting out.

Re: Kinda Sad today HP rating per Gtech Pro
gtech pro doesent help you learn anything. goto the track enough times and you'll start to learn stuff and have stuff click in your head, you can call bs 1/4 time's and discuss times more in depth than you ever could.
Plus the feeling of being there and everyone watching. I like it. If I pull on a z28 and the whole crowd see's it. it feels great coming back on the return road and everyone looking at your car. and another thing, where legally can you do all this shit? let a cop see you racing through a long parking lot, think he wont give a you a ticket because you had a gtech?

Re: Kinda Sad today HP rating per Gtech Pro
Me and a friend to out his del sol last night with my Gtech Pro. He just go it and his intake is on the way so we pulled it loose from the factory air box and put a sock on it. We pulled between 83-87 hp. Thats in a stock del sol with a 1.5L D15 with a sock...lol I think yours should deff be higher dude.
