Nothing wrong with the Zoom Zoom ad. Just remember, originality isn't always successful in the car industry. So you would expect some ads to carry similarities.

And about 90% of luxury car ads are either shot in posh European locations or in an evening Metropolis. Since nearly every luxury marque has done this (even Hyundai's terrible XG Grandeur), then why aren't people criticising each marque for 'copying'?

Hey the insurance rate for the older Protoge is quite low indeed. And it is posible to buy one for $3000-4000 (in the U.S.A.). Mazdas are not fast but more afordable, and economic, yet still a 4-door.

So there you have it!

Well Holden are guilty of the car in the desert advertising too with the VT V8 ute add campaign, doing donuts and all!
But then again Holden (being part of GM and all) are not very innovative people anyway, they still use 2v pushrod V8's in their Commodores etc.

Bottom line is people see a Mazda and think "Zoom, Zoom". It's catchy and it's simple. The new Mitsubishi commercial is catchy too but it's not as easy to remember as the Mazda commercial. Mazda should keep running the ads. They are great.

So G20, what exactly are you running under your head to be bad mouthing anyone? I'm not being cynical, just for you to come up and hate on anyone, I would assume you will be backing it up.

I rather like the Max Life engine oil commercial, they have an ancient wagon sliding through the desert.

Well, mazda may not have the most powerful engines at the moment, but HP isn't the only thing to be concsidered when determening if a car is fast.

The protege is the best handling FWD car on the market at the moment(except maybe for stuff like the SVT Focus, or SE-R, but those are much more exspesive fully sports oriented vehicles.) It maintains speed through the corners better then anything else in it's class.

Plus, once the Mazda Speed version is released it'll be possibly the fastest compact inport on the market. I mean, it comes from the factory with 170+ HP from a turbo charged 2.0L. That could easily be put to 200 or more for less then $1000. Plus it has a full racing beat suspension. The thing was already top of the game before, what do you think it'll do with a full sport tuned suspension?

Also, the RX-8 is coming out, and although I'm not sure on the power output compared to the RX-7's, it's a much better handling car then the FD(how thats possible I'm still wondering...).

And the latest miata's have 160HP if I'm not mistaken, sure not a huge ammount of power, but still, it's nothing to laugh at. Especially not in something as light weight as a miata.

Thats what i like so much about mazda. They don't need to have as much power to still be as fast as other companys. I'm rather say I just beat you with a car with less power then yours then I just beat you with a car with 10 times the power of yours.

As if to say that Mazda has been known for producing lethal powerplants. That's ballsy advertising if you ask me . . . let alone the fact that they copied Nissan's commercial with the silver cars driving around the salt flats or whatever the hell that dusty flat land area is . . .

If not for the rotary, where would Mazda be right now?
I don't agree with ya but that's pretty funny

What the hell, Mazda started off with power; 1968 came Mazda's FIRST rotary powered sports car, the Cosmo 110S. This car is still faster than todays Miata. Also, just like the other people said, if you hear the Zoom Zoom add and remember Mazda than the add was successful. I do have to agree that the Zoom Zoom kid is annoying. True, Mazda cars as of today are not creme filled with horse power but thay are pretty tough and reliable, and the performance is tough to beat. Plus Mazda is coming out with the Mazda 6 and the all new RX-8; Mazda said that the Miata will probably recievce the RX-8 chassis in the near future (with or without the rotary engine, I don't know). Mazda also said that if the RX-8 does really good that they will bring back the RX-7 (AWSOME, a fourth generation). Also the MAZDASPEED Protege. Plus you have to remember that Mazda has been the first to do a lot of things; they were the first Japanese company to win the Le Mans (first and only rotary powered car to win the Le Mans), they have their own raceway now (Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca), they made the "first real" rotary powered sports car, they have made one of the best sports cars of all time...the one and only RX-7, etc.... To sum it all up, Mazda cars do have some Zoom Zoom, but they will have much more in the future. You can bet on it.

Zoom Zoom is just trying to cash in on the success of the Miata in the states. I have to laugh when it is a zoom zoom comerical with a Mazda Tribute SUV or MPV Mini-van.

Kia and Hyundais some OK commercials. Kia with their ads showing that you can get a new car with a huge warranty for less than you can get a used car, with lots of miles and no warranty.

I liked the Sorrento Lord of the Rings KIA commercial. Come take a test drive and get a free Lord of the Rings DVD.

Hyundai with their Tiburon commercial with a devil. Stupid. Like the car, hate the commercial.

Cmotif <><

I miss the old VW GTI commercials. VW does have some great commercials, always have!!
