Re: Tamiya TL01 hop ups

Ummm, somewhat. There is a lot of factors with elec motors. If you want to go fast look for motors with lower turns.

How would a Dyna Run racing stock motor do compared to the RS540 ? how many turns is it would i need an ESC upgrade ? (my esc is an eco 27...)

Is the lightweight TL01 chassis any good ?
And what kinda tyres should i use for burning around in ? (my TL01 is 2wd (rear) cause it is much faster that way....)
and it is more fun because of it !

Are tyre inserts good and which should i use ?

Re: Tamiya TL01 hop ups

Hmmm the esc that you have now looks like it can only handle 27T motors. There is no info on turns of any of those motors. Now the lighter frame would let you get more speed out of your car. Tires that is a hard question. It depends on were you running.

Re: Tamiya TL01 hop ups

Is it clean. Like no small rocks or dirt. If not you can look into foam tires for some speed and hook up. If it is a dirty surface look at www.pro-lineracing.com and at there tires. You would then need rubber tires and new wheels. I heard they are great.

Re: Tamiya TL01 hop ups

If the surface has small but hardly no rocks or dirt then look into foams. A mod motor would get you more speed but then you would have to get a new esc to handle the new motor. If you mean by cleaning just a few drops of comm drop and getting the comm cut and new burshes is all that is needed. But i do that even to stock motors.

Re: Tamiya TL01 hop ups

You need to change the brushes every so often when they get blacked or really short. I think one good link is www.jaco.com for foams. If the esc can handle down to 12T then look for a nice 12T motor. Alot of speed.
