DSM's are so incredibly easy to mod compared to most cars tho, my whole family own talons i swear. Can't wait to race my bro when i get a VR-4. Hes modded the shit out of it though, so it might not be close.

Re: 99 firebird transam vs 3kGT SL both stock

I have owned a V6 Bird and driven a SL. It seemed to me the SL had a better final drive ratio. It had the neck snap, to accelerate faster unlike the firebird. But the bird had tall gears (I want to say i could get up to 35mph in first gear, don't remember though).

But a slightly modded V6 firebird would walk a slightly modded SL I think. The bird has a very restrictive intake, and with freeing up the intake and exhaust, it would gain substantial power. I think my car dyno'ed in the 240whp/260wtq range. I did regualry beat up V8 Stangs in the 1/4 though. And they all thought I had the V8 Bird...HAH!

The V6 firebird should get beaten by the SL I would think. I used to have this 97 Chevy 1500 with the 305 5.0 Vortech and all I did was open up the air box. It used to beat V6 firebirds, mustangs, and lots of rice with it. They are quick for a V6, but still, its embarassing to get beat by a truck....

I love my VR-4 though.....
