I agree, i think its the actual stadium experience, rather than the sport. Chillin, eating peanuts or hot dogs at a baseball game or doin the wave at a football game is just too much fun. Even if the game/team sucks.

I think some sports you have to have played to appreciate them on TV. I can watch skiing or soccer (in Spanish, no less) and be perfectly happy, while my friends slip into comas. I don't understand how anyone can find football boring, though. It's got action, strategy, violence, hot cheerleaders...

yea thats what i ment rsx-s777, ur right! u got to play the sport to appreciacte it. For ex i know damn well i wont make it in soccer, because its all running! and im not a runner, Im a big guy. Thats why i give all the soccer player so much points cuz it takes guts to do all that running, and i know most of them cant take a hit from other 300 pound guys, so they give me the points for playing my sport and taking all the hits on the filed.

Actually they should change the Fitness & Nutrition forum into a Sports & Fitness forum. It would be a lot easier.

Anways, can't wait for the season to start up. Not big on the NFL though, it's all about college ball.

I heard the name football was changed from pigskin after people started whining about the name. The people who changed the name thought football sonded cool regardless that it was already the name of a different sport and then made up the name soccer. What the hell does soccer mean anyways? Why can't they change football to soccer and have soccer go back to what it really is, that being football.

I'm not much of a football fan for two reasons. To much standing around watching the clock tick and they only play once a week. Hockey is the king of sports It has the best parts of all other sports. Hard hitting, high skill level, constant action, players want to play no matter how hurt they are, ONE time out per game, fortunes change in a second and they'll play more then once a week while doing all that.

There are other sports that I enjoy more then football, but there are quite a few people who do go nuts over it. In general, my opinion of football players is that most are sissy girlymen. Lace up the skates and be a real man

I can take a hit from a 300 pounder...once. And I don't know how much guts I have for running up and down a soccer field as compared to getting crushed every 2 minutes. The one thing the football and soccer players did have in common (in high school and college)...we both got alot of action. And isnt THAT what's really important?

I think that "SOCCER" was actually the name of an association that dealt with "Football" (And I mean they kind where they use their feet) and generally for some reason on the western side of the Atlantic, people refered to the game as Soccer. When I was in england somebody explained it, but I don't remember what they said barely at all.
