Re: Camaro vs. 240sx

I beat my friend's stick 96 V6 camaro, they are not that fast at all. They are very heavy compared to the 240sx. The 240sx has more hp per pound ratio. If it's a V8, don't be expecting it kill it unless you are running boost.

Re: Camaro vs. 240sx

Take it from a guy who sold his lady bird three days ago, all stock V6 stangs, cams & Birds are crappy, these cars were built for economy, they were based on the V8 platform with a V6 block. I smoked a 2001 mustang V6 auto with my 1990 SHO, never lost to any of them, I beat them on take off and top speed, and my SHO had like 120K well maintained.
Now for the V8s' this is a whole nother level, I had the LT1 in mine and the only cars I lost to were a 2002 Cobra (cause it was new, smoked a 98 easy and my Bird had 95K), and a 95'Twin turbo Supra. I don't give a shit if my car was fresh of the line, I was smoked by the stang by maybe 8 cars, but the supra smoked him by almost 600ft, guess where it left me? We were left racing each other and never saw him, well I did six months later at advanced parking, turned out he was named Fred (what ever happened to the foot pedling rock auto he had on nickelodian??????).
Take him, the 90 birds even with the V8, were yet to receive the monstrous LT1, even I give respect, well, for now, but not for long though. The 90s' were slow, get some Nos and you got him, unless he has some mods then that, no hope, anything minor to the domestic V8 incredibly increases their output, thats how under rated they come from the factory, try a 541HP LT1 Firebird Naturally aspirated.

Re: Camaro vs. 240sx

to answer your question about lanching... if you have stock tires, bring it to 3000, if they arent stock, like pirellis for example or some bullshit, bring it to 3500. that is where you have most tourque before you get wheelspin. just try it you'll see. i killed a 92 v8 camaro off the lauch doing this, so it will work. by the way, i did lose the racce though... he caught up to me in the top end of 3rd... better hope your friends shit is a v6!

Indeed it does... I beat one of the newer Z28's by about 4 car lengths when I was running a 50 shot on my car.

Well, then neither did Ford.... Chevy's 305 is actually closer to a 5.0 liter than ford's 302 is.

Ford 302 = 4.948572 liters
Chevy 305 = 4.99773 liters

it saddens me your so ignorant. There is only one way to make an import fast, and thats to mod the shit out of it and BEAT THE LIVING PISS OUT OF IT. you always have to have the throttle down HARD and shift as fast as possible to get any sort of speed out of them. Now take a newer camaro, see the displacement does actually do something, because its the displacement that allows so much power to be made. The more displacement gives off more torque and lower in the powerband. So u can give ur civic 20% throttle and a camaro 15% throttle and the camaro will pull on it lol. Its obvious you have never driven a decent v8 powered car, I have. I used to think like u did that they sucked, thats until I drove a good one a lot....

yeah 215hp from 5.7L is pretty sad, its not like thats all they could do though lol, it had more to do with detuning it for the type of car people wanted to buy during that time frame.

but its not as bad as 105hp from a 2.2 Honda.....LMFAO
and compare the torque curve of the two engines and you will shit yourself. I don't see how people rag on american engines. If you know ANYTHING about power and using it, and have looked at a dyno chart for say a honda and then say a LT1 or a LS1 you should be shell shocked. Whats a B18C make, thats like Hondas top 4 banger and they put out like 100fwtorque on a dyno, thats at redline too, from 0-5000rpm they make like 30 lbs of torque... thats FUCKING sad

I was even watching a B18 acura with a t3/t4 turbo, intercooler, all the goodies and it looked like it was put together pretty decent. Made 130lbs of peak torque.... and thats at like 6000rpm. Put a turbo/supercharder on a LT1 or LS1 chevy and your peak torque will probably be about 450-500 on a stock engine at around 2500-3000rpm

a monkey could figure out what engine has more power.

Re: Camaro vs. 240sx

my friend has a 96 Z28 which has a 350 in it and my 7 can stay right next to him till about 40 mph then hes blows by me, but mines also 5spd and his is auto so I can take him off the line... plus his tops out at 155 and mine tops around 130-135... anyways if its V8 you'll get smoked, if its V6 you'll smoke him... oh yea but my friend has a K&N intake and flow masters too soooo that could have more to do with it too

get i/h/e and wider tires and maybe upgrade clutch and you could hang with a V8 if its stock... maybe
