Well, I built both. A 1/16 288 GTO from Fujimi and 1/16 F40 from Fujimi.
I just scanned the engine assembly guide and found lots of difference, but, hey, take a look yourself: 288 gto part 1  288 gto part 2  f40 part 1  f40 part 2  f40 part 3  hope that helps solving the problems:
