Re: program keyless remote

Is there any way possible to program this remote without a trip to the dealer. ( 96 T&C)
I have two remotes and neither are original, they both have been purchased used.

Thanks.

Refer to my previous post method "D". You have to ground the specified green wire to force the BCM into program mode. It worked for my 96 GC when programing was lost and none of the remotes worked.

3. You may program up to 4 transmitters for your vehicle within a 30 second timed window. Press and release both lock and unlock buttons of a transmitter at the same time;then press any of the buttons once, you will hear a beep when the transmitter has been successfully programmed. A chime will sound when the 30 seconds is over, or if you turn the ignition switch off.

If you do not have a programmed transmitter, contact your dealer for details.

I had to contact the dealer and pay them. If you have a working programmed transmitter you should be OK.
This procedure is for newer vans, I have a 94 Caravan with no "Panic" button, does anyone have the procedure for this model? Many Thanks!

Thanks for the info. I do have one working remote and want to add another one I picked up at a salvage yard.

I'll try it. I don't have the factory alarm so it should not be a problem.
I have one programmed but want to add a second one.

Many Thanks!

Hi:

My is 2001 Voyager LX, I got one remote with the car and get a new one from the dealer. They tried to reprogram the new one with DRBIII but can program only one REMOTE.
I tried with the method in the service manual, but still only one work.
The service manual did not say you need to program all you REMOTE before turn OFF. (The working one would be erased to BLANK)
Program ALL you REMOTE one by one before turn OFF. I just programed two REMOTE.

Hi - Have you gotten the programming for the 94. If not it is different then the 99. There is a bullet connector behind the glove compartment. (you have to remove the screws and take the glove box out) You take a wire and stick it in the bullet connector and then to ground. That takes you too the programming. I have done it to my old van a number of times.

Sorry for the delay. This is on my agenda for this weekend, (4-30) since the other method didn't work. When I bought the van in 95 as a demo, I remember the dealer was in and around the passenger side of the van when I had him program the one and only remote I got with it, indicating that the connector is indeed dehind the glove box. I'll let you know! Thanks!

Re: program keyless remote

I have a 1999 and I have no working fobs. The program method D does not work because I have no dark green wire and there is no wire in #1 of the data connector.

Re: program keyless remote

Hello,

I'm new here and I have a question, I hope that someone can help me!!
I had to replace my battery in my keyless entry, I tried to hold the buttons for the 7 seconds and nothing is happening!! I just bought a new stereo for my car and everywhere I have looked on line is telling me that I need the stock stereo!! I'm wondering if there is another way to make it work without having to put my old stereo back in my car and then putting the new in again?
I'm going crazy here!! Please help!!

Re: program keyless remote

I had a 97 Grand caravan and still have 2 working remotes. These are rectangular remotes. I just got a 2000 Grand caravan that has 1 peanut shaped remote. I tried programing the '97 remotes via the 2000 owners manual instructions without luck. Can the '97 remotes work with the 2000 Grand Caravan? I hope I don't have to buy different remotes for the 2000.

Thank you,

Re: program keyless remote

How to Program 1996 Chrysler Town & Country LXI Remote (taken from owner's Manual p.18) This feature allows you to program transmitters in case one is lost or an extra transmitter(s) is desired. Up to 4 transmitters can be programmed to your vehicle. To program another transmitter, follow these steps: 1.) Turn ignition switch to the ON position and leave vehicle in park. 2.) Using a previously programmed transmitter, press the UNLOCK button for 5 to 10 seconds. While the UNLOCK button is being pressed, press the PANIC button and release both buttons simultaneously. You will hear a chime sound to signal you that programming on the new transmitter(s) will occur. 3.) Press and release any button on each transmitter, including the previously programmed transmitter, you wish to program (up to 4). You will hear a beep when a transmitter has been successfully programmed in. You will have 30 seconds to complete the programming of all desired transmitters. A chime will sound when the 30 seconds is over, or if you turn the ignition switch off. ~~I hope this helps anyone out there.

Re: program keyless remote

I know how to program the remotes that DO NOT HAVE THE PANIC BUTTON... they are the black square ones with just lock and unlock. What I did was turned the ignition to on without starting the motor, keep the driver door open, then with the original working remote i pressed lock for like 10 seconds.. The locks go up and down many times. I then took the new remote and pressed lock for a few seconds and it now works fine.

To tell you the truth, I don't even know if this van has keyless entry, but I am assuming it does since most all vehicles since the mid 90's have come with it as a standard option. How can you check to see if it does have it?

Someone please tell me if I can program the keyless fob or do I need to take it to a dealer.

thanks,
You need to remove the top dash pad and see if there is a receiver mounted there. If not you don't have keyless entry.
