thats 44 grand brand new, my car cost me 8 grand, rather have a real sports car than turn my gas saving economicaly slow car into a sports car. now i love teg type r thats a nice car but don't come over here speaking when your not sure whats going on, we run 13.5 stock, why you run 16's our top speed is 160 why yours is 110 and i can get to 110 3 sec before you can even hit the 1/4 mile. now granted we can sit here all day and say i can buy a 86 stang soup it up and it will be faster than a ferrari, but i'd still rather have a ferrari than a 86 stang, the inside of our cars are way more advanced and looks waaaaay better than a teg. now you can take your comment and say the same thing to the skylines and supras and corvettes, but we all would rather have our 3kgt's skylines, supra's and corvettes.

actually before you say how can i compare, i found that the gt runs a 15.8 stock, my ls runs 16 flat. hmm, not bad for a 4cyl. i'm just saying pay your money for that gas guzling boat while im saving money. everyone looks at the 3k and thinks its wide, looks goofey, has a bottle nose, and makes this funny sound. and it does not handle like that smaller cars. that is why it is not popular.

Most of the people who bring up the weight of these cars really don't know what they are talking about. Weight is a factor, but so is the gearing, the power bands, traction and a host of others (not even counting the largest one - the driver). I stand up for the 3000 and our sister car the Stealth. I let people know what they can do and how well they perform. Many unsuspecting upstarts get a surprise as to how distant my taillights look. They all buy into the same rumors and false facts about the cars (or raced a 164hp base model at one time). As to gaining respect. I think that can be won over by the owners of our fine cars acting graciously when we win and honorably when we lose.

-I've never heard anyone but you say that...I get plenty of looks and comments about my car...none of them have been in that respect. Justin Timberlake is popular too...personally I don't care if you think my car isn't...

I'm saying I used to drive a Honda and i never had anyone ask me at a redlight how much hp it had, or say sweet ride, or is that twin turbo? stuff like that...they didn't care. I get that in my vr4 all the time, and I don't think it's from people who think it's ugly.
Not to mention...why are you, an integra lover coming into this forum anyway...if you don't like the 3000, aren't you in the wrong place? You said you don't like Kias...do you go in there and let them know your opinions of their cars too?

just today i seen this chick look at my car and give me a thumbs up, i get it all the time "is that a ferrari" lol youngteg you know nothing and if your teg cost 10 grand and mine cost 8 then who won the deal here? i spent 2 grand less than you and run a 13.9 stock. now if you spend 4 grand to run mid 14's i'l spend 4 grand to run low 12's if you spend 5-6 grand to run low 13's i'll be runnig mid 11's, and look good while i'm doing it

Heres my 2 cents:
1. The 3000GT isnt a sports car, its a touring car. It'd a beast on the streets and on the highway, but its weight effects braking and cornering so it never was that huge on the curcuit among the Jap Import promoters (BMI, Best Motoring) and the British (Top Gear.) Thats why it isnt that popular among the import crowd. That and the fact that they're damn expensive so the target demographic arent the ones who can afford and modify them, and talk about them online. 2. The Integra is inferior to the 3000GT in every performance aspect. But what you said about the interior i'd have to disagree with, the Integras is roomier and looks nice, not so plasticky. My roomate has a 3KGT and I dont like the interior 1 bit, seems a lil cheap to me but thats just my opinion. 3. Whats wrong with being underestimated and mysterious? NOBODY knows about the MR2 Turbo outside of the automotive enthusiast world. I'd rather be underestimated than anything else... never let em see you coming, keep em guessin. Either way, the 3S is a hell of a car, its gorgeous and very fast, and on the highway "Fahgettaboutit" |

one thing that the vr4 is not known is is high speed handling now i'm not talking about hitting corner at 40mph, i'm talking about doing 90mph and hitting a corner that says 40mph. i outhandled my pops vette in the idaho pass and have tested my car also through washingtons snoqualmie pass. known to be pretty dangerous. our skidpad is better than that of an bmw m3. we just have some probs(because of weight) with sharp corners at semi high speeds. now yes a teg is roomier but it is also roomier than a mr-2 and a rx-7 that doesn't change the fact that it is very nice on the inside ioo(in our opinions)inside of an integra loks like every other normal car to me nothing impressive.

You can get an 99 3k in exelent shape for 20k or less. Add $1000 in mods and you have a car that will eat your integra for lunch, leek better, ride better and be a joy to drive. And best of all your not one of thousands you'll have the joy or driving a car that is unique on the road. oh yea and I still get 27+mpg daily driven on my sl or my TT.
