U dont understand its not like a small difference. If it were Id just say forget it. They are putting out just about no bass. In the ciera they were set in by cradels. They just sound aful. Its not the positioning of them nor the box. Definatley not the polarity switched.

Okay I have been away from my computer for about a week so I wasn't able to keep up with this thread, now I am back on track..

Yes the wire gauge can make a difference, sometimes a huge difference but not likely with 6x9's unless they have a high wattage rating.. Also when you put speakers in a sealed box (no ports/holes in the box) it causes the cone of the speaker to move much less than if it were just sitting in the open due to the lack of air flow.. Thus altering the way the speaker sounds, such as reduced bass at certain volumes or static.. Now if you take that same box and put a 1-2 inch hole in it (say on the side or the back, side reccomended) then the cone of the speaker will move more and they become a little louder, sometimes a lot louder..

Now last I checked the Wal-Mart speaker boxes are made of OSB (Oriented Stand Board) materials, which is a pretty cheap wood but for 6x9's I feel it too be suficient..

You may want to try porting your speaker boxes, but by doing so your be stuck with it that way until you get new boxes if you dont like the way they sound.. You could even port just one of them and set the two boxes next to one another and see which sounds better, that way your only out of one box if you don't like the ported sound.. It's all a matter of taste..

Definately though the boxes are going to make your speakers sound different, I promise you that..

I have tried them outta the box. In fact I got the boxes after wards I figured maybe someone could just fix the wiring afterwards if anyhting it made them sound a bit better. Not by much I talked to a guy at best by today. He told me that I probably need an amp different cars distrubute power differently. They would charge liek 15$ to check it out. I may just do that. Like I said im 99.9% sure it is not a box or wires being crossed. My thought is that wiring somewhere is bad. Causing a lack of power. I need to test it soon. I have tried them in and out of the boxes though. I didnt have the boxes the first 2 times i tried them (with and without the new headunit). Im stumped im going to make sure my head unit is in right in the next few days. Im starting to do my interior in red and black so I don't know exactly when im going to do it. Im going to havea friend that has an idea what hes doing at least so I hear take a look at it. If I ever find out whats wrong I post the reply. If anyone cares. I don't really want to buy a amp becuse the best buy guy said it might be the problem.

Best buy said they would check it out for 15$. But im going ot get the interior done. I hope I don't have to redo the carpet and headliner. Im not sure about the light grey. Probably will. Maybe get wheels and a sunroof put in thie summer. I don't know what the guy in your guestbook is talking about. I raced a sxt neon or something 2002 idk if thats the right model. Not the fast one. Anyway he got me off the line by likea foot then after that I got him. Im not looking to race though maybe just a muffler. Im going all show. Racing causes problems and wrecks and it be worth it if i had money just incase haha anwauy cya
