Re: 2000 Silverado, venting frustration, JUNK
Hey! I feel like finally someone understands me. I've owned my 99 z71 for 10,000 miles and have had the ABS pump go out, rotors warp, interior leak from rain, 4wd switch crap out, tail gate clips fall apart, cadalidic converter crap out, and the door speakers break even though i dont crank the tunes. It seems all in all, my truck is beginning to suck. Its time for a foreign truck.

A quick note on the throttle 'sticking'... my Z71 gradually needed more throttle pedal pressure to start the vehicle from a stop and it wasn't a dirty throttle body - just a linkage issue. As described in an earlier reply by djsommer, there is a small setscrew which is upside down on the linkage; however, it is not an allen head bolt, it's a star head. By turning this a fraction of a turn, you move the linkage a hair and the throttle then woks correctly.. there's enough play in the linkage to allow this slight adjustment without increasing the idle RPM - in fact I have 120K on my truck now and have made this adjustment only twice - at about 60K and 80K.... neither time did it even come close to affecting the idle speed position.
(I logged on to this forum to see if anyone else has had fuel gauge sending unit problems - WOW - didn't realize it was such a pervasive issue.. think I'll just 'live' with that problem.. I know how much fuel I've got anyway..!) Great website! |
