Chris, does it snow in Missouri enough to warrant a body lift just for chains ?
Not usually. I travel a lot though, and I'd like to extend the offroading season to when the trails get ice-coated. 4WD and good tires will help a ton in the snow, but only chains (or studded tires) will help on ice. I'm a lot more likely to come across ice than snow in Missouri. Also, the body lift is not just for chains. I also want it for better approach/departure angles, more room under the hood, and more room under the body. I have several projects in the planning stages. 2" doesn't seem like much, but if you add to those tight spaces, there's a lot more you can do (like fit dual batteries).

Does Washington have chain laws for 4WD's ?

"As stated in WAC 204-24-050, all wheel drive (4-wheel drive) vehicles are exempt from the chain requirement when all wheels are in gear and are equipped with approved traction tires. Carrying one set of chains in the vehicle is required because the Washington State Patrol (WSP) may ask motorists to put them on should conditions warrant. "

BFG MT's are not Approved traction tires.

Are you doing this just because of the law ?

For the most part. It doesn't snow very much in Seattle, but the cascades get an enormous amount of snow.

The passes can be quite treacherous if caught at the wrong time. I just want to have the option of running chains. Chances are I will never have to use them.

Hell yeah, all it needs is an IV drip of power steering fluid.

Got my Calmini idler arm brace today, any A Arms yet?

I'd like to get the AC steering system, but that's just too much money for me to fork out for steering. I'm sure its worth every penny, but you can buy a lot of centerlinks for that much. I tried to work out a deal trading web development hours for steering system, but they said they already had someone working on their site.

I am waiting patiently for the release of my new lift. I have my tires in place and made my wheel well modifications to fit them. Once my lift is in place, this phase will be complete. (Thank God) After that it is rock sliders and a transfer case skidplate.

You are buying SLR's Stage 4 lift right? What does it include? What is the cost?
