Mind you that there is more then 1 version of the WRX... Three the last time I counted. You have American, Japanese, and then the true rally series. I personally like the Japanese version better...

What is wrong with the auto industry? Are all car designers on weed now-a-days? Why can't they redesign a car so that it actually looks better? Isn't that whats the redisgn is supposed to do? :[

I think the WRX has become too...well, consumer oriented. I think they're trying to make it look..."cute".

Actually, not all designers are on weed. The designer of the Aztek was on Acid. She is also blind...and stupid...definitely stupid.

I think it is great the the WRX will finally be available here. Subaru has been uncompetitive in terms of stock production cars in racing circuits here. And they have so much potential! The flat four designs provide low centers of gravity and great torque, and yet their performance numbers are usually way off the mark when compared to those of their competition from Toyota, Honda, and others. It's been a long time coming for Subaru, and I want them to succeed - hopefully this will be the key that they need!

hey those bosch winshield wipers are really good though. I picked up some for a 2.5 GT and im impressed. They are made out of teflon istead of crappy plastic. Just thought I would throw that in...

"SUBARU" is a Japanese word meaning "unite," as well as a term identifying a cluster of six stars which the Greeks called the Pleiades -- part of the Taurus constellation. According to Greek mythology, Atlas' daughters turned into this group of stars.

Here's the hatch:

it looks a bit bigger and sportier than the old hatch
One more difference is now all the Imprezas share the same front bumper from the WRX with foglights, so now its a lot harder to distinguish a WRX from a budget Impreza by just looking at it,and if you are one of those who slaps Vtec stickers on entry level civics and puts giant spoilers and bumpers on them now you dont need to bother fitting a WRX bumper to make your car look like a WRX.It already does. Also the new bug - eyed styling seemed hideous when I first saw it on the photograph, but in real life the lights are ok, and you get used to them and grow to like them. Also, immense improvements have neen made in interior design. The old Impreza's interior is UGLY. The new one is very neatly laid out and seats are comfortable, and thank god, the headroom has been improved (in the new car with my 1.90 height i dont touch the ceiling with my head, unlike my brothers 94' Impreza Sportwagon.)

Well I personally am looking forward to the WRX and I'm planning on buying it and then promptly whooping arse on the tarmac around here.... For 25k loaded you can't beat 25k for a Japanese Super Car It's a bargain and a half.... This car should be in the 35-40k range.... I mean in it's class what beats it? the Integra Type R comes close 0-60 and 1/4 mile wise, but with no AWD or turbo..... for the exact same price? Eh.... I'd rather get this..... I mean, why waste 4,5,6,000 on a turbocharger for the Type R when you can get the WRX _WITH_ a turbo and spend that 6 grand on othre mods....? Not to mention the WRX handles better, holds more (practical, hey it's stilla street car) and has has a more comfortable ride... (not jacked in a low rider bare bones type cockpit of the Type R) The WRX doubles as a family car... can your Type R do this? Not easily

The only thing the Type R can do better is high end torque.... And I say that's fine with me I, personally would rather have low end.... I mean how many time are you going 90 as opposed to how many times are you going 35-40? Some runs say the Type wins in the quater mile others say the WRX.... they are both equal there.... WRX would pull ahead till about 70 then the Type R would stay even and pull ahead at like 90.... But the fac that the WRX has all the Type R does and more? LOL forget the the looks.... This car is a beast when it wants to be and a tame soccer mom car all in one....

Type R has been Owned

can anyone put it in words better than J Spec??
didn't think so.
One thing I think Subaru should do is put in a V-6 or inline 6 and then Twin-Turbo it, that's going to be a REAL monster!

V6 or I6? Doubt it.... They love their B4 but maybe they'll design a B6 for it down the road, don't hold your breath though.... As for a TT? I know you can drop one in an RS, but the problem with the WRX is it's engine bay is smaller and more compact (which is a good thing forweight issues which in turn helps handling and acceleration) except when you need to drop bigger parts in there....

My only complaint with the WRX is that they put 3 cats on it.... That's crazy! Well I'll just swap them with a straight pipe... Oh ya and my other complaint is we don't get the Projector lights (but I plan on putting in the JDM stock WRX lights)
