Re: Rant about how i cant find the perfect car for me to tune... (swearing, cursing, etc)

the american car i found was an 80's camaro that i could get into 11's w/o nos for about 3000$, but guess what, i dont want it! why!??! cause i want an import thats why, but guess what, imports are too expensive.
well.. if your strictly looking for the perfect import, your not gonna find it, you need to expand your choices.

Looks like a N/A G will run about 16-17 according to the search I just did. I didn't find one that was ONLY turbo'd but did find a turbo with some extra mods..

Quote:
Dyno 11psi 225.5 whp and 228.4 torque.

As for the 1/4 mile time let me tell you i only got to run twice or you'd be seeing a 13 sec timeslip. I went to Firebird Raceway in Phoenix and it was F@wking packed. I waited a total of 5 hours for 2 runs. WTF. Seeing as how this was my first time out there with the turbo motor i didn't exactley have my launches down, thus having to feather the gas to gain traction just to break looose again. ohhh well.

Best Run:
60' 2.341 (bleh)
1/8 9.248
1000 11.938
1/4 14.222 @ 98.60

This was done with the above power with full Leather interior. and nothing lightened. Soon you'll be seeing some 13.xx times as soon as i get back out there and get to run more then twice in 5 hours and cut some 2.1 60ft's.
200sx SE-R will be a LOT faster. Same engine, about 400-500 lbs less car. You lose out on the lux factor though, and some handling.

Oh and the G does best in twisties, not straight-line unless modded. It's sold as the Nissan Primera overseas, won BTCC a few times.

Hope that helps.

Well if you're careful with it it won't break that much steel :P

Besides, learning the complicated rotary shit is half the fun of owning one. I'm looking forward to fucking up something in the first one and digging into the book to find out wth happened and how much im gonna shell out for the part :P

Yeah... you'll grow out of that pretty quick

Plus its not the rotary shit that goes wrong, its EVERYTHING ELSE! Like.. busted fuel lines (in my case) or fried logicons, crappy wiring, falling apart interior, major rust problems, stupud little engine subsystems throwing monkey wrneches into the works. Blah...

Re: Rant about how i cant find the perfect car for me to tune... (swearing, cursing, etc)

You need an Eclipse GSX.You don't need to crack the block open for modifications until you start breaking into the 11's. Seriously. The eclipse engines take a good 450-500 HP before they need any internal mods. And if you find the right parts and make the right combination of parts, it won't be cheap.

Or get a 91 Mazda Protege and run 75 shot nitrous. You won't believe how underestimated these cars are. For $1,500, what else can run low 14's and get 25 MPG? (besides a motorcycle )

Buy a 3000GT
I just picked one up for $500
It has 263,000 miles
Was owned by and old guy (only owner)
It has its share of problems but nothing that I can't fix with a little time and patience. Oh yea the books were like $150. but well worth it.

Re: Rant about how i cant find the perfect car for me to tune... (swearing, cursing, etc)

3000gt = crap unless its a vr4. even then, 263k is a LOT of miles man. I mean a LOT!

But back to the crap part: they're heavy pigs (4000lbs?) they're FWD, their transmissions are made of platic, and modding the engine is very $$$ for minimal gains. Just my 2 cents.
