The technical side of banning IPs aside, because I have no idea how it works, there is ALWAYS a mod online. Simply becasue of the time zones and the number of mods we have, there is never a moment when someone isnt keeping an eye on the forums.
It also takes about 30secs to ban someone, even over a dail up, while it takes several minutes to rejoin or change your IP.
And anyone who wants to get banned then rejoin, then get banned again is doing it becasue thier immature little attention seekers, and so finding them when they rejoin is so easy its not funny. Infact we often ban them before they can make a second and sometimes if were hunting IP's and themed user names the 1st post.
Then you add the real idiots that do things like spam thier own forums, then in that forum discuss how thier going to couse trouble here, and all the usernames thier going to use. I have literaly been reading a thread in another forum explianing what they were going to do next, and banning members accordingly before they got to use thier new user names.
In the end someone might be able to couse trouble for a short amount of time, but the numbers are simply against them being able to get away with it long enough to do any actual harm.
