Re: thinking about buying a miata please help?

why wouldnt you tune out this car. although its great stock it has so much potential to be something better. its still a miata but a miata that can give porsches a run for their money and something that you can have an individual touch too. Miatas that are kicking 250+ hp to the wheels and have suspension done are so nice. Its like the same miata just packin some more power and better handling. Tuning a miata is just making something already great into something magnificent.

I can't tell to whom you are responding, but if it's me, I have reasons I wouldn't want to "tune out this car". First, my purpose of having the Miata is just to enjoy her, top down. She is also my only car and a commute one at that.

I have my individul touches that I can afford. It cost money to modify and since I am not interested in racing or be equal to a Porche, I have chosen just to enjoy my Miata as is with a few exceptions. I changed the exhaust, but the rest is cosmetic.

:-)

Re: thinking about buying a miata please help?

I'd probably get a BRP supercharger stage 1 to stage 3 depending on your needs. No turbo lag and instant boots, plus really easy to install

I wouldn't get the Jackson racing one though.

on top of that you would need a new clutch, possibly bigger brakes, and an intercooler of somekind and probably a lightened flywheel.

if your looking for performance, the 99 and 00 cars are the lightest and cheapest and you could use the money left over for the upgrades.

I have a 2000 evo orange, and just bought a 2004 sunlight silver as I need the warranty for my long commute.
