Why do civic drivers talk down to neon guys? Your just as slow Also dosnt the neon have a bigger and better engine? But maybe because you guys have V-tec that makes you gods Anyways this guy is a little dumb though, thinking an intake and throttle body will beat a car with 15grand invested. Although I suspose the guy could have sent it all on stickers and wings

Hi guys/gals! This forum stuff is cool heh?? I am so happy I found a nice place to get info about my latest adventure!!
I am wondering what it would take to soup up my 95 2.0L SOHC Neon to enable me to wax ALL the Civic's that are out there!!?? A friend of a friend has invested over 15 grand in his Civic drivetrain and my Neon just can't keep up. Do you think 98mm throttle body and a K&N filter would give me the edge??

no, I think a RWD would be a good start.

To be honest, stock-for-stock, with equal drivers, I'd put my bet on a Neon Highline 4-dr with the DOHC motor, against any version of the USDM Civic Si. The 1st-gen Highline 4-dr was even lighter than the Neon ACR, which was capable of 15-flats stock.

I'm a fan of sleepers, no matter who makes them.

I have a friend with a 1st gen Neon ACR, his only mods are some Azenis tires on stock wheels, intake from a Chrysler minivan, and headers and exhaust. He's spent a lot of time at the strip getting the launch down and tweaking the factory adjustable shocks for best launch, and he's removed every non-essential piece of weight he could. He dynoed 150 hp to the wheels, and the damn thing is quicker than my car on nitrous through the 1000ft. It's only a tenth quicker, and it's mostly because I don't launch my car when racing, and I could own his ass from a roll, but it still pisses me off He has an SRT4 too, his quickest ET is in the ACR though.
