Sites are not free, and sponsor and PAYING vendors help keep them alive. There is no reason for someone to take advatage of them to promote his own business when not returning profits that could arise from his ads on a site.

See we are not complaining about just one or two times, we are talking about alomost every post is a way of tring to sell something to someone. Look at this post http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=187846 the guy who started the thread did not come close to asking for a place to buy anything. He wanted technical info, not a sales pitch. If you cannot see what this guy is doing then you are really naive.

i have posted in many a place and seen first hand the bickering that goes on within some forums so far that has been a plus on this forum. in my opinion wteg was offended by the fact that the info that i gave conflicted his info so he got mad. i could be wrong this forum is to learn about our sport not bitch at each other. i was wrong for attacking wteg and i am sorry.

question: where did i go wrong? "JCRX" would you please be alittle more mature with your response this time. what was it that i did that pissed you people off by doing? again, no mater what your view of my actions is, i am only trying to help these people out. FYI i have never gained any business or sold any parts from my posts on this forum, my actions are ONLY to help the people that do not know any better.

The other forums that I am a moderator on we don't even tell you that you screwed up, we delete your post, send you a warning, and if you do it again you're banned. The reason, as I have already said is that your business needs to pay to advertise, just like the other business that cut a check every month/bi monthly/yearly whatever. It is the equivolent of stealing when you advertise without paying, in your signature is one thing, but like in the post that is linked above, you blatanly were trying to get that individual to pay your products. You offered NO advice whatsoever. If the admins and mods want us to stop harassing you ever time we see you trying to promote your business without returning anything to the site, then so be it, but till then, everytime I see you selling your products without being a paying vendor you will catch the wrath. In this "hobby" word of mouth is everything, if think this isn't a valuable resource for selling your parts, you are sorely mistaken. I have sold tons of parts on the web, you just have to do it the right way.

You act like we are accusing you of doing something that you most definitely did do. How about that thread I linked in my last post? What kind of helpful information did you give? Did you try to sell him something? YES you did, come on man just admit it and lets move on. This post has already gone down the tubes and is now wasting more bandwidth that we are starting to run out of due to the higher traffic we have been seeing. This said you will not see another post from me in about this topic. I do have to say that the quality of your posts have greatly increased, and I have no doubt that you have a vast amount of information that you could share with people, but at the same time I feel that what you were doing was entirely wrong. And no I did not attack you as you say b/c you contradicted me. I felt that you were more motivated to make a sell rather than help this individual out. You can say it how ever many times you want that you have never sold anything to anyone from this forum, but I don’t buy it. Supposedly the guy in this thread was going to contact you and purchase the ignition system from you, so you have already contradicted yourself.And BTW when ever I say something negative about a product it is because I have had first hand experience with it and was dissatisfied with it. That was why I made the comment about the MSD wires. I have no problems with the MSD ignition kits, just the wires for the Hondas, that is all. But let’s not argue about that, we can only agree to disagree about that subject I suppose.

hey whteg, thank you. i got defensive due to your first reply to me. again i applogize for my response. if may seem as contradiction and i see your point of view, no sales made yet, haha. I will try and respect those who are sensitive to such matters. hopefully from now on there will be no more problems.
