Unhappy

Ok....since I'm home, and bored I'll address the turbo thing first. Here's the idea, I photochopped the original type R pic to show you how the turbo header works. If you follow the arrows for cylinders 2-4 you see they all dump into the turbine section of the turbo. I think on cylinder 1 you all got confused. If you follow the white arrow, you can see that it comes outta the head goes up, 180* back down, then cuts to the right and runs under the header pipes of cylinders 2-3, once inbetween these two, it cuts to a 90* bend down into the turbo. although the cylinder 1 pipe is close to the compressor, a piece of aluminum foil will be placed there for a heat-blocker thingy.

Ok. Now, I wont be using pen click tops for the turbo inlet, instead I used 7/32 styrene tubing for the inlet pipe. I'm willing to make a basic turbo How-To Thread, however it will have to wait till this car is completed, because I'm on a deadline with this one, it was really given to me, and after completion will be placed in a case at a freinds house where we usually hang out, and work on models. It won't stay there, but it needs to be there for his birthday, basically he bet me I couldn't do it by his birthday, I'm going to prove him wrong.

Ok, now, I can walk you through how I made the turbo (keep in mind it took 1 hour to make, basically because I was using hot boiling water to heat the rod, and kept screwing up) Basically water boiling for 1 minute, let boil, using .100 styrene rod I stuck it under the water for 2 minutes, it came out and was curled. Make sure you use gloves of some sort, the plastic WILL be hot! I took some superglue and after getting the bend and circumference where I wanted I superglued the rod to itself. The last time it popped up, so a candle helped it hold place with itself. I did basically the same thing for the turbing housing. as far as the outlet and the middle where your lube and such comes into play I used the .100 for those, but the exhaust outlet will have a sleeve over it to make it bigger. I hope this helps a little.

Ok, to Willimo: This car came as inspiration from a car I saw on MTV's I'm a street racer. Supposingly it was an imported 97-99 JDM Type R, but minus the turbo. I just like the idea of the usdm look with RHD, that's why I made this rhd. I know the scales are off, but it's a model, and I don't care it looks good to me.

Fujimi....the color is not baby blue, it's Ford Racing Blue. The color gets brighter when in light. Here's a pic to show you how it looks with no flash

BTW, I did the red accents, and kinda got a blob of red allover the battery, but I have the ford racing blue duplicolor pen to fix where it blobed I have to do my black and white accents tonight, tell me what you all think.

BTW, Thanks for everyones keen interest and all their posts in this thread, if you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Talking

Since you guys are dying for an update. Here's the bodys' current state:

CSC has got to be the baddest stuff I've worked with. Stripped that stuff down pretty far. So tonight it'll be wet sanded with 2k grit, and light mist coats of primer applied tomorrow. BTW, I want your opinions on some things I got in the mail today...

Got The muffler for 89, the pedals for 11, a die-cast jegs 1/24 cavalier for 10, and a redline racing chevy tee shirt from jegs today. Yes the muffler and pedals are APC. I'm aware APC can cause cancer, but I'm a dangerous man

If only I could figure out how these damn pedals go on........

Red face UPDATES........................................... .....Not That Anyone Seems To Care!

Anyway. I did some more work, and here's what has been done so far.

I've painted the metal parts of the axels silver to represent a heavy duty 650+ horsepower piece.

The Recaro Fujimi seats have a black insert, don't mind the bubbles, just the camera's crappy resolution, they really look pretty good.

The suspension was also done in silver, I'm looking on google for some tein ITR suspension pics to see exactly what is green.

Also, Here's part of the 8point cage. It would technically be a 10 but there's no room for forward diagonal bars to come from the main hoop into the floor where the top support bars will be seeing as it's already a tight fit with the 1/24 seats in a 1/25 interior.

Here's a mock up to show you how it should look.

Re: ITR, Turbo,...

10/10 for creativity. Run some scratch built twisty headers into the turbo. Nice work

So why shouldn't the japanese put USDM front on their JDM ITR's?

I don't know if that does really happen but it could be possible.

Tre cool project.
it does happen, but not to the extent of how the US guys want a JDM frontend. But i've seen 98+ US style bumpers on some JDM integra's.
