Re: what do you do?
dont kid yourself about the whole "I dont have time!" issue. when i first moved out (i am 21 now) from my parents house i was working 53 hours a week while going to school full time. i still worked out! once you get the desire, there isnt a darn thing that will get in your way. so dont kid yourself about "i dont have time".
-i am 5'6" 153lbs and i have gained 20lbs since i started working 1 job instead of 2. -reasons for gaining weight: i was actually sleeping. i started to consume 200-250grams of protein daily. i am also on creatine (but i cycle). -get a partner to go to the gym with you, and lift until you cant do it anymore...then try to do it one more time! have fun, hope i can help.

Re: what do you do?
well, i eat 3 protein bars daily. watch out for the contents in the bar, some have wayyy too much sugar. try to stay around 6-8grams of sugar. the bars i eat range from 13-16 grams of protein. almost a dollar a bar.
i also drink 3 protein shakes a day (GNC 100% Whey) do not buy Mega Whey! you would be paying for glutamine-which you can buy cheaper, seperately. i use this also, but only after a workout day. the 100% whey has 20grams of protein per scoop, and the milk i use has 9 grams per 8 ounces. i put a scoop and a half of protein and put that in 12 ounces of milk. this would mean that i consumed 43 grams of protein per shake i drink. and i have 3 a day! yes this is expensive, there are alternatives. eat hotdogs. they are cheap and plentiful. eat like 6 a day (especially when you are not hungry) there are smart ways to gain weight, and there are stupid ways. my uncle who is 6'4" 160lbs or so used to eat crisco oil! he was desperate when he was younger. the best tip i can give a guy that is trying to gain weight: eat tuna. i still have these occasionally, i used to have a can a day. i believe that is 37 grams of protein and only 1.5 grams of fat. lets see, what about eggs? just eat the egg white if you can...the yolks contain the fat. -oh yeah i study this kinda stuff for fun. i had the desire to be a nutritionist quite a while ago. i now am studying genetics, anatomy, and biochemistry.

There's always time for a workout. I sometimes have difficulty getting one in, especially having a kid. So for the times I can't get to the gym, I have a pair of dumbell handles, an EZ curl bar, an inexpensive bench, and a lot of weight plates.
As gaining weight, if you're not too concerned about gaining fat, then just eat. Try the see-food diet, as in you see food, you eat it. Tuna, as kittedb18b1 said, is a great source of quality protein. And at less than $1 a can, it's pretty cheap too. And shakes are also good for gaining. Try blending the shake with fruit to make it taste better. One powder I've found to taste good by itself is Muscle Milk by Cytosport. Carbs are important too. Low carb diets are good for losing weight, not gaining. Plenty of carbs will ensure that your muscles are getting the protein you're eating, and it's not getting used for energy. If all else fails, you could always try other supplements, such as prohormones. I'm gonna try MAG-10 soon, I've heard some good things about it. A bit pricey, but if it actually does what it says, then I'll be very happy. Also, Myo-Blast is another good one. It's supposed to neutralize myostatin protein cells, which inhibits muscle growth. Also, an added side effect from Myo-Blast is that you're hungry all the time. That will help big time when you're trying to stuff a lot of food down your throat.

cool, i learned something sideshowrich.
http://www.mdausa.org/news/021127micedmd.html i know this article is old, but i am not going to try something like that until it has been out on the market for a few more years. plus i am not really into these 'super-duper' supplements. the only one i am interested in besides the creatine and protein is steroids. yes real steroids. i have tried those prohormones to aid your body in testosterone production, but they have not helped me. plus they are WAY expensive.

kitted, do you find that milk and protein shakes become very think and clumpy and somewhat uneasy on the stomach? I have been using Designer Whey for about a year now, and like it better with either half water/milk, or all water. What other supplements are you taking? I take multivitamins and creatine mix.

For starters I have a very balanced diet. I take the best vitamins and mineral supplements like shark liver oil, germanium, calcium, and a few others. I try to avoid soda, pork, and mono-sodium glutamates. I also cut back on the processed foods and foods high in sodium. I need to start doing some cardio and build my upper body some since I lost a lot of weight a while back and mostly from the upper body including muscle mass.

Re: what do you do?
i am also on creatine-make sure you take it an hour before your workout and take about 30 grams of carbs with it for better absorbtion.
-multivitamins are the most important supplement you can buy. buy them from a health store. -protein always upsets my stomach. natural sources of protein is more important, and better for you. -i also take glutamine (5grams) only after a workout day though. i am not on any prohormone supplements at this time, although i have experimented with them. i did not see any results.

I absolutely hate protein bars. I tried eating them, but it was just too awful. I can down protein shakes, but I hate those too, so I only do it if I'm desparate. As for your tuna advice, that's what I normally eat. I eat those starkist tuna pouches, which are 3.5 oz., and contain 49g of protein total. I'm not sure of the fat content though, so I'll hafta check. So I just eat that after a hard workout. The good news is, I just had a physical today for tennis tryouts, and I'm now at 140 lbs., as opposed to 135. I'll just do some research on it and read through all 60+ men's health magazines that I have stacked away somewhere to get some ideas.

Re: what do you do?
Meso-Tech bars all the way, especially the chocolate peanut butter ones. Tastes so good, I almost forget it's a protein bar.
As for prohormones, I've tried some of the Muscletech prohormones, and noticed some results, although not as good as expected. I would try some real steroids, but after a buddy of mine took some, his man-gina shrank, and his woman nearly left him for it, kinda turned me off to them. The Myo-Blast is good shit. I bought it online, and got a really good deal on it, as opposed to getting it at GNC. Saved myself some serious ca$h.
