Maybe it's because people have become so jaded with everything that goes on in politics-sort of a "We can't really make a difference so why try"type of thing.When people see that "elections" can go down like the last one,and all the tricks and manipulations that go into the process,then it's not really surprising,is it?

I mean,why isn't the election process or at least the way votes are cast standardized(hello,butterfly ballot) and counted( hello Florida) and presented?It shouldn't take a supreme court ruling to relay the "will of the people".Seems simple enough-one person,one vote.166,000,000 voters(est.),160,000,000 potential votes.Whoever gets the most wins.No more electoral college,or backroom tricks,or funky lists of people that shouldn't be allowed to vote.It just seems too easy to screw with the system,and this probably discourages a lot of would-be voters
