Agree with Steel. Out of the ten commandments, one of them is "Thou shall not kill". That's interesting, seeing as more people are killed/killing in the name of "God" than anything else. Keep in mind, the same people who wrote the Bible also say the Earth was flat, and is the center of the universe. Anyone who didn't see this was promptly exiled or murdered, again, all in the name of "God". So if people KILL for this "God", then who is the real "devil"?

Let me state that I don't believe in God, but open to it. However, my definition of God maybe more different than the Jewish/Christian/Muslim defintion.

I agree with MBTN that the desire to worship is human nature and that some people "need" a god (or two). I've argued this on other forums on other sites, no need to repeat what MBTN has said.

Now some people here are missing Steel's point, he's ranting about the whole my God is better than your God crap. This is just absolute bullshit! So let me get this straight... Christians came from Jews, but Christians will go to Heaven and Jews (and infidels) to Hell?!? But they were originally the same bloody God!! Fucking A!! So God is taking sides?! Reminds me of something I heard about the American Civil War: a priest commented to Lincoln, "I hope God is on our side", and Lincoln replied with "I hope we are on the side of God". To recap... each religion think its views are correct and that the other is wrong. It don't matter which side you are on, you think you're on the right side. And that is wrong!!

Hey jinshuan, its all point of view....Jews are the "chosen people" and all of the goyim (non-jews) are goin downstairs in judaism....christians, muslims, all have similar beliefs, so its more like pick a door and find out whats behind it.

Jews and Muslims sprout from the same father (abraham right? im not religious, i dont know) who had two wives, so, both muslims and jews believe they are the sons of abraham, and deny the other of such things....

Christians have the whole "dont do the christ thing, hell ya go" deal...

so, everybody has the same idea, all three worship the same god, its all a big load of bullshit......i believe that there is SOMETHING, i cant define it, ya just know its there. It doesnt care about which camp you sleep in, it doesnt care about which prophet you believe to be a true savior, and its comprised of all things, both good and evil, because without evil you cant truly define good..........

The english translations of the Bible usually read "Thou shall not kill" when in fact it should be "Thou shall not murder". Many of the people who claim to be killing in the name of God are just looking for a banner to fight under, they don't care what it means it's just self justification. Killing, such as to defend yourself or perhaps in war isn't a good thing, but I don't think I would call it a sin. Now, the same people that wrote the Bible said the earth was flat? What book of the Bible is that in? I don't recall ever reading that. Perhaps your getting the writers of the old and new testaments confused with some of the early scientists such as Galileo and their battles with "the church". God is who He is, day after day. It's people that give Him a bad name. If I come into your house and shout "For George Bush!", then shoot you, does that make George Bush a murderer? Hardly.

Now on to Judeo-Christians, Orthodox Jews and Muslims. Abraham fathered two children, Isaac, and Ishmael. Isaac is the father of the Jewish people, and Ishmael of the Muslims. Now, Christians as you all know believe that Y'shua was the Moschiac(Jesus, the Christ). Orthodox Jews are still waiting for the Moshiac to come, believing that the new testament is false and the Y'shua was not who He claimed to be, Yahweh in the flesh. Muslims also believe that Y'shua was nothing more than a prophet, and that they are the rightful people of God. Hey Steel grow the fuck up.I tolerate and have pateince(sp?) for most anything.I beleive in GOD.I do not approve in anymanner someone telling me what my religion should be and assholes use it for their own purposes.Take for example these people who are using the Jihad for there own good by killing innocent people,women,children.Everyone at some point goes back to GOD whether it be marriage,sickness in family or death of a friend or loved one.I respect your opinion but I think it is wrong.

Actually, my history class had a nice big bash...i mean "discussion" session about the crusades. There are like 6 muslim girls im my class who repeatedly brought up the whole religion thing when the topics should have been the long lasting effects on history. I think history is something everyone should have a knowledge of. Those who are ignorant of it are doomed to repeat it. Basically, my opinion is:

I never told you what your religion should be. I was just pissed at the people who had no respect for other religions by saying that their religion is the 'best' and all other religions are 'wrong'.
