Re: 95 Celica Engine swap?!?!?
nobody mentioned this, but 6 Gen Celicas were not shipped to the US as alltrac models. Celica GT4 (the ones with the 3SGTE in them) were alltrac, and the engine was mounted differently. You're gonna need custom mounts, and a tranny upgrade

Re: 95 Celica Engine swap?!?!?
BTW, if you try to do the 4wd conversion, and you can't find a 3sgte, look for the vvt-i version 3SGE in all JDM Altezza RS200s. Just as good as 3SGTE in hp (A-Spec) and just as bulletproof.

Re: 95 Celica Engine swap?!?!?
i think im going to stick to the fwd. 4wd sounds tempting i might look into it.
also do you think I can convert my car into a Rwd without to much cost... just a question. |

the 3sge engine actually has better hp.. it comes with 210hp stock and they have a lot of different turbos for that engine, though they dont come from toyota with a turbo...

gl with that... like i said it only comes in the caldina and the altezza so the engine wont be a match and you'll have to make custom engine mounts and then if you think about it a 3sgte engine goes for arround $3500, the 3sge engine i wouldnt be supprized if the price is arround $5000 plus you have to import it from japan... and then all this other crap to match it up... i wouldnt do it unless u got a thick wallet or u can do most of it urself

waaaay less, I've seen clips of 3S (either flavor) for less than $2000 plus shipping... simmer down and look around ! ![]() later, Chris |

oh sorry i guess i forgot the 3rd gen in the front... usually the rear or front clip 3rd gens go for arround $3000 - $3500 because of the demand

Re: 95 Celica Engine swap?!?!?
as far as conversion, it depends on whether or not the back end of the frame between ST202 and ST205 Celicas are different. (ST205 is GT4, ST202 is the 5SFE Celica). You'll have to get 4WD Exhaust, Fuel Rails, struts and a gang of other stuff if its not. Once you do it, you can cut the front shafts and have a rear wheel drive (just like the 13.4 R34 Skyline in 2F2F). 3SGE with VVTi is better - same HP as MR2 3SGTE, and if you strap on a turbo to the VVTi, 260 hp (if its a Toyota turbo). Since 3SGE was used on A-Spec Gen 2 FWD Camries, you may be able to keep your ride FWD with it in it. It depends on how it mounts/drives the tranny.

Re: 95 Celica Engine swap?!?!?
What would be the cost? I can think about doing it but it would probably be just a dream. I just want to know if it is would be in a reasonable price.
