yea i see what you mean, its great that alfa did a great job with their gt cars by beating bmw, which probably had a lot to do with the drivers ability anyways, but i also said that we re talking about regular stock cars here. you say that if they wanted to, they can duplicate the same thing in their regular models, well, i think they should have, if its true that the higher end v6 model has more understeer than their lower model counter part. if they re good with fwd handling, then they should have made the higher end more powerful car a better handler.

Absolutely, a FWD car can be faster around a track than a RWD car, it all depends on the models. TG or 5th gear (cant remember) pitted a Civic Type-R vs a S2k on a track, and who won... the Civic

but - and there is a but - FWD cars can never be made to feel like RWD, certainly on the road and less so in racing spec

It is a good comparison, the bimmer and alfa. However living in Canada, I have never seen the alfa, and the bimmer 330i is more abundant than fricken vw bugs. I can see myself behind the wheel of either, although preferrably the alfa, because they are much rarer here, and as said before, the RWD is a super bonus.
