It's a shame they don't have anything for my car. The only Ford they seem to support is the Focus.

Tein is good stuff man, if that's how far they've chosen to lower your car with those springs, it's because that's the height that works best from their experience. If you're asking if you'll notice the difference in looks, IMO a nice 1-1.5 lowering to remove wheel gap looks way classier than slamming a car on the ground, not to mention looking more performance oriented, because it is.

is the SS-P also good for freeway driving? coz am on the freeway 90% of the time.

thanks in advance.
It will be stiffer, yes, but that's a given with any aftermarket suspension. Being a true coil and matched damper setup designed for track and street use, this is probably the least bouncy of any type of aftermarket suspension. It will serve you well for daily driving on the freeway, and when it's time to do some cornering too. You're not gonna find a better handling setup that's still as comfortable as this for the same price. I only pray I can get my money together in time to join this deal.

Hope that helps some of you with your decisions.

when is the last day for the groupbuy?

ok, follow up questions since we are at it. which is better? basic or ss-p? is the stiffness close to stock stiffness?

***in the mean time, since we can all back out at the last min...i would want in on this group buy. il just bail out if i cant come up with the money on time.***

The last day for group buy has not yet been decided. I was thinking around the 1st of February, but it may change.

Please call Drew Kung at (859) 255-3142 if you wish to put your name on the list. Again, you can get out of the group buy so long as it's before all the products are ordered, and that will not be happening for a while. When it does however, I will provide the date ahead of time so everyone who may want to bail knows about the deadline.

Re: TEIN Coilovers, Springs, EDFC - ALL Makes and Models

ArideII, the coilovers offered here arent the sleeves that fit over your stock struts, these include the whole thing. So you basically will get the springs/dampers(struts) and i believe that all the coilovers are height adjustable but some of them you can adjust the softness or stiffness of the dampers.

igor, this is a stupid question but these prices dont include shipping do they!? If not, where are they going to be shipped from? (just to give me an idea of how much i might be paying total) Thanks.

...Anyways, I've decided to get a better job so I can make more $$$ and buy some quality wheels/tires later, instead of no name crap.

So I'm most likely in on this one I'll be calling to place an order for a Tein SS within the next few days.

I <3 group buys!

Hey, I live in Lexington and I've never seen your shop. Where is it? I've been to Street Sports down on Nicholasville Rd. but I've never heard of your shop. I must be blind. Could you tell me where it's at?

Re: TEIN Coilovers, Springs, EDFC - ALL Makes and Models

It's 40% for the springs. the most you would pay through this group buy is 120 dollars. You realize a savings of 80 dollars. Not too shabby, huh.

how much for the Flex on the WRX? on www.gruppe-s.com they have listed non sale as 1595 that means that with a 20% sale it would be around 1295, can you beat that? I'm just curious because if you can i'll buy these most likely, other wise i can wait.

thanks,
christian

Re: TEIN Coilovers, Springs, EDFC - ALL Makes and Models

Christian,

The FLEX for the WRX will be 20% off $1740.00 which is $1392. This is the worst case scenario. If we get 20 people to order coilovers, and I am certain we will, then your price will be $1305.

I am not understanding your fuzzy math behind the $1295 number - why are you taking 20% off their price?

I didn't see this before. First, what you might be thinking when we say "coilover". You may have seen what some companies call "coilovers" as little sleeve that fit over your stock struts and short springs that set on top of them. These are bad because the spring is so short you lose a lot of suspension travel. Also most of them have insanely stiff springs to keep them from binding cuz they're so short, and they bounce around a lot because of that. That's not what these are. These are completely new struts with threaded bodies, and springs. This way you get height adjustability without loosing any travel, and you get a full sized spring with a spring rate that's not too stiff.

Another thing about aftermarket shocks/struts is that you need to find the right ones to match your springs for the best handling. This is a matched pair, so that's already done for you. So what you get with the coilovers that you don't get with the springs is adjustable height, and proper performance shocks/struts instead of using your stock ones.

Also, some of these kits have adjustable shocks/struts, so you can make them stiffer for racing and softer for daily driving with the twist of a knob on top of the strut. Add the EDFC and you can adjust it by the mere push of a button from inside the car. It's a really sweet setup.

On top of that, some of the coilover kits come with new top mounts, instead of using the stock rubber top mounts you get solid ones with increases the resposiveness of the car. Also, I'm pretty sure the top mounts are adjustable for camber too.

Sorry that was so long, but just wanted you to see why the coilovers were so much more special than just a spring setup. IMO it's well worth the extra money, even to a po' college boy like me who already has springs but wants this upgrade.
