Question

Does it come with the wiring and everything else you need? Are they hard to install. I had friends help me install my amp and woofers, and also this little box that says "Adjustable Output Adaptable" it was hooked up to my rear stock speakers and they were also hooked up to the amp. Well when I get my new car (02 Spec-V) I took all my wiring out of my old car. Why you ask? Because I'm a cheap bastard and that wiring cost me a good 100 bucks (Monster Cable amp kit and speaker wire). But another question... whats a crossover and what does it do? Isn't that for the speakers that arent hooked up to the amp or for the highs or something?

Yea all that stuff sounds expensive. I'm saving up my money for some Sony Xplod stuff. I seen the head unit, cd changer, and interior speakers that I want from Sony. I try to keep everything one brand.:sun:

I'm not getting the subs, I have MTX subs already. I'm getting just the door speakers to replace my factory joints. Believe it or not but the stock system in the Spec-V isn't bad for a factory setup. It has 2 tweeters, 4 speakers, and a sub. Everything is Panasonic.

I hear that Infinity Reference are good. In reference to speakers, components consist of more than one driver (ie. tweeter, woofer) which are dedicated to reproducing a certain range of frequenices. [Tweeters play the highs: cymbals, hi-hat, the phonetic S stuff like that..
Mids play... the midrange frequencies (vocals). And, woofers go a bit lower. (That is the case in a 3-way component set.)] The most popular set consists of 2 drivers. What keeps them from playing the other stuff is a crossover.

Spec-V, I would suggest that you NOT get the sony speakers. They sound like crap. They distort. The only good thing about them is that they are loud....and kinda cheap too. The JBL GTI speakers are supposed to be really nice. They'll run you about a hundred bucks, but from what I hear, they are definitely worth it. The GTI subs kick ass too. Oh man, they hit ungodly hard. They will take all the power you can give them, but if you guys want loud....look no further. I know one guy that has a GTI 12", it hits harder than 4 12"s. I swear.

Start a new thread about this. This is about setting off car alarms with your system, not about which speakers to buy.
