WOOD? that is even more stupid than the whole idea of the conversion, you are right 20, kids in the US any where from 18(my age) to their late 20's work hard to make our pieces of shit look better not realizing that we could have saved all that money to buy a real car, it probably its just part of being young and stupid but it is also part of the male nature to try to costumize and improve your own car, know what im trying to say. Still i dont get the point of buying the same car as every body else

i've seen an integra trying to race vette last weekend, the vette was driving like it was telling the integra to piss off, you know maybe this proves that it is stupidity, also this kid in school got a new integra type R and he actualy dared to say that all the money he is going to put in it will make his car able to beat a Viper

Integra Type-R faster than a Viper...LOL :sun: Funny stuff. BTW, have you checked out www.riceboypage.com or something. Sometimes I get teers in my eyes (laughter AND sadness) from looking at the hall of shame. lol

Cool

As long as they don't put wood in front of the radiator to look like a 'cooler or put 10 fog lights in front (like the one I saw at riceboy web), I suppose it's ok. I mean, a man's meat may be another's poison. As long as the conversion gives actual benefit to thye performance it should be okay. Looking at it from a different angle, some people might say that the amount we are spending on our GTR (or in my case, the amount which I plan to spend on my GTR) plus the price we pay for the GTRmay buy us a used 348 - so what the heck are we doing?
At the end of the day, it's what we like. And that guy with the Viper-eating-Integra-wanabe, I would like to contact him.......now!:frog:

When I ordered my car, I was told that the R34 GTR stock will lose to the EVO 6 stock. Stock R34 is only running 40% of its engine's capability. However, minor mod to the Skyline will turn this around.

Are you ordering it form MotoRex or r u in a different country? BTW, although it's probably to late now, I think the Tommykiarai ZZ2s might be available in the USA and for the same price as the current cash your spending on a MotoRex R34. Anyway, welcome, I own a R33 from MotoRex. And more and more GTR owners are coming here. Hope u enjoy your stay.

And I think you are correct, and R34 will accelerate faster on the straights then a Evo 6 because it has more torque but the lighter weight 4 banger engine in the Evo 6 might and probably duz give it the edge in the turns.

Racer 20 - I ordered mine in Hong Kong. My 5th grade classmate owns a car dealership in Hong Kong to import all kinds of Japanese car and aftermarket performance parts. He ordered the car for me straight from Nissan and gave me a very good deal on it. The price I am getting is less than what Motorex is charging for their 99 R34 (with no offense I am sure Motorex had spent a lot for its initial investment). I was told by my friend that they had the R34 GTR and Evo 6 both stock racing against each other. He said even the straight away, the R34 would lose too. He told me don't be surprised if I lose to those Evo5,6 or 7 when I get the car. I will have to mod it in order to release its power.

Cool

Hi InitialE,welcome to this wonderful and sometime manic world of owning a GTR (it should be GRRRR.....) But I reckon driving a R34 around a cramped island ain't gonna be as fun as driving it on long highways and twisted country roads.....heh...heh.....
Yes, I think the Evo 6 would eat up your 34 straight out from the box! But that will not last long.....be cool and wait till you hit the 3rd gear at say....120 kph....mash the pedal and whoops.....at 170 kph in 3rd ...up to the 4th...and you could than see the 6's tiny intercooler in your rear view mirror:greenchai :evillaugh If you want to see a official comparison, go to Autozine at http://home.netvigator.com/~europa/Main_Menu.htm and click "new car" than "Nissan" than "Skyline GTR".
My personal experience with an Evo 6 confirms the report...the 6 blasted away from me in 1st and 2nd but my car was catching up in the 3rd when the highway became cramped with other vehicles.. dammit...where's that 6?:finger: But both the 6 and my GTR were modded.

R33 - Where are you located? I haven't got the car yet, but I really look forward to seeing it in Aug. I don't think I would mod this car because my wife will drive it too. I am afraid she will have a difficult time to handle it. I heard the car is actually 320hp stock even though Nissan claims 280hp. This is gonna be my first turbo car. I am getting really excited about it.

Cool

Initial, that was what I said when I first had my 33! But now it has about 380 rear wheel hp! Next month, I am going to strenghten the bottom end and later I have plan for a 550-600 rated turbo!! I bet you will never resist the modding temptation (make that " itch!"). It is such a wonderful car that everytime you do something to it, it would reward you with soooo much pleasure that you want more and more from it! And the car delivers everytime you demand more! Damn!
Stock GTR is about 280 bhp. The first thing many owners do is to free the breathing by ditching the restrictive air filters with aftermarket ones...than the exhaust....later the intercooler....the oil cooler (this is a must!)....than the ecu......ad infinitum:jump: The air filters and exhaust change alone will yield another 20-30 hp. Your wife will be afraid initially as did my wife but when she drives the car on high boost, she once clocked 180 kph!
BTW, I am in M'sia. Quite near to HK. Hey...can your HK friend source some used carbon fibre parts for my R33? Hope I am not imposing. Peace.

R33 - I know I will be itchy to fix up the car, but like I said I am afraid my wife can't handle that much power. Trust me, I really love to mod car. I spent a lot of money to mod my Type R. It's my only hobby. I think the only mod I would do to the car is the blow off valve, turbo timer and sound system.

I don't think my friend sells used cf stuffs, but anything other than that, he's got them all.

Initial, thanks for the info on the CF stuffs. Well, I think you will enjoy the GTR, modded or unmodded. But hey....(whisper...) if you want to mod it while still keeping it at stock power when your wife drive it, tell me, I think I know what to do I am playing the devil's advocate here
